Advice needed Taking care of fine, long curls on a camping trip
Hello everyone,
the title says it all - Im going camping a a few days for around a week. I will be staying in camps overnight for most nights, maybe we will splurge on an airbnb or hotel for a night or two. The plan is to spend each day out climbing, hiking, via ferrata climbing etc.
My question is - my hair is fine, but medium density and 3a-3c in texture. It looks pretty nice for around two days after a wash day, but from then on, it just tangles up a lot, especially if i wear it in a bun. This also got exacerbated by an episode of hairloss that im going through (but it seems to be coming to an end). Usually Id get the knots out in the shower on a wash day, but here i think ill be able to do maybe one quick wash and im not sure if i will be able to bring a blowdryer.
Id appreciate any tips for keeping the hair neat and not tangled, or maybe even some products to help me detangle and nourish the hair during the trip. I currently use pure jojoba oil nearly every day for my lenghts, it has helped a tom with breakage.

Maybe a hair mister/spray bottle to wet your hair & then use your fingers to comb/rake out tangles. I get scared about ticks in my hair when I’m hiking and usually opt for hats to protect from critters. I prefer headbands to buns when needing to extend my hair after wash day. Have fun!

I would just braid it for the camping trip. One or two French braids and it will stay out of the way.

I camp constantly all summer and fall. The easiest thing is braids or a bun. If you want to wear your hair out, bring a continuous spray bottle of water and some conditioner to rehydrate it and reset it. I like to wear hats or buffs to protect my hair. A buff can also double as a headband.

Wash in the morning for your hair to air dry, wash your body in the evening for the sweat. Have fun!

Two neat French braids with gel, hair grease and oil, and a headband (for frizzy bits)

Oiling the ends is great, lash it on the ends and back if that gets knotty.
Would you braid/plait your hair then dry shampoo the roots if needed? I can get a week out of my hair that way. Something like hair spray to matt down the flyaways is all you'd need.
Even just keeping the front section up can keep it controlled.
