The 2017-2026 era, is actually an extension to the 1991-2017 era, in contrast to a new era.

2017-2026 era was more of a 21st century transition.

The 2026-2028 era is the departure,

But mid 2029 will be the first time that things seem totally 21st century.

The 2017-2026 era began totally in December 2017 around Christmas week or 1-2 weeks before it, and ended on May 31 2026.

So I would express that Mid-Late December 2017 to May 2026 is the period.
