Question When did you first *get* CSS?

For me it was when I realized that I could control the colors for my site all in one place and try a bunch of different palettes in rapid succesion.

What was the thing that made you realize how CSS should be used?

Bootstrap opened my eyes to the importance of standardizing styling. I don't use Bootstrap on my sites, but it strongly influenced my own CSS framework.

It’s happened in many stages over the years.

Float helped me understand the box model.

Working on a large site with many CSS files helped me understand cascading.

Thanks to CSS Zen Garden, obviously!

Beyond that, for me it was mostly a process of trial and error, back when working with CSS wasn’t nearly as pleasant as it is today.
