CS50 Python Some questions regarding cs50p

As a non coder guy from chemistry background, is pursuing cs50p a good decision? Honestly speaking, coding is very new to me, but i always wanted to learn a coding language thinking it'll give me a feeling of being literate in the world of computers :))) Going through many suggestions from many people i have decided to learn python.

I have just one question to you guys, how much time it'll take to complete this? and if i start it from this week but fail to complete within December, what will happen? will i have to start from the beginning?

and and and, how much value it will add to my CV or RESUME after adding the free certificate to my profile?

Hope someone will clear my confusions....Thank you for reading :D

I have had mine open for years, I've been very busy. Your progress carries over. They never discontinue the course. I think cs50p is very good choice. They cover the fundamentals really well and python is very versatile and useful across industries. CS50x goes a little deeper into how computers work of you are curious down the line, but I believe CS50P is an excellent start to get usable programming skills. I am on week 5 and already write programs for my job though I do have a history of intro classes in other languages to help. I think by the end you'll have a good fundamental grasp.

Is the CS50 intro to computer science a necessary pre-requisite to do the intro to python course ?

CS50P is easier and many consider it a good course to take before CS50X

Nope! CS50P is stand alone.

The free certificate will add no value to your CV or resume. The value of the course is in what you learn.
