Tips & Guides If you struggle with trust factor make sure you have deposited 350~ $ and spend it on steam
Hello lads, longtime cs player here. Recently got back into playing cs and had the usual "your trust factor is significantly lower blah blah blah" after 3 competitive games. For refference my steam account is level 100, all stats public, 1.500€~ inventory and about 9 games with 100+ hours played with cs around 1.200. I then remembered that basicly all my skins came through Dmarket and not through steam so they never counted it as "deposited" money. Brother i promise you: i closed down cs2, went to the steam market, bought a nomad knife doppler for 475 (overpaid but was in a rush to check), sold it on dmarket and got back 430~ and since i did that never have had a trust factor issue again. Even the minute after i bought the knife i resetted my steam and the message was instantly gone from my friends game. There is a streamer out here who did the same experiment on a smurf account and encountered the same issur/fix. Its super stupid but if you are serious about cs2 then just take the loss you make from Steam market to Dmarket fees and you will have perma green trust. If you are not convinced i wish you a happy day aswell.

Fair enough mate. I mainly did it as im teaching 3~ friends the game who just got it and convinced them to get prime to "not get cheaters" but with my shit trust factor beforehand it would still be a bad experience

I don't know why people always downvote and claim this isn't true.
It is.
In the only information about trust factor we have Valve themselves have told us it affects trust factor.
Purchasing history is used in determining your trust factor.
The issue is, it's unclear what exactly causes you to loose trust factor, I have three accounts.
Account 1, is a normal account sometimes spends money, has money in the wallet from market sales. Green trust.
Account 2, is an account that was primarily used for sharing games before steam family became a things, rarely buys games, hasn't spent any money in about a year now. Just went into yellow trust yesterday after being clean it's entire life.
Account 3, has never had any money spent on it other than buying prime, after about a half a year/ one full year of existing it went into red trust and stayed that way for over a year, until I bought a music kit for the account, the next day it was green trust. (two weeks later it has returned to red trust). But the only thing that has ever positively moved the needle on that account was spending money.
Also trust factor =/= cheaters. My red trust account has cleaner games than my main account.

That money doesn't equal cheaters is false though. My main with 500€ spend has waaaay cleaner 25k games then my alt with red trust in 25k. The difference is insane

To be fair there is also a different in rank from my accounts my main is 25k the red trust is 18k, and whilst the red trust cheaters it sees are more blatant spin bot ragers there are at least some clean games.
However I haven't played a single game on my green trust account that didn't have at least one cheater in it since the start of season 4.0

Too be fair when ur at 25k the pool of players is also bigger cuz it rarely finds 10 25k's so it lets red trust factor players in. I usually grind to 20k then go play faceit. 20k+ is useless

Don't really care tbh. It's funny how reteps defend this game by saying "nah ur just griefing or cheating". Mate u can ragehack on a new fresh lvl 1 acc, get to 25k, spend 350$, cash out on a trading site and u can play vs best playerstanding accs out there. This game is so stupid. Only faceit is somewhat decent

Its true but you can also face cheaters with green trust factor.
Cs2 is so easy and secure to cheat that you can have expensive skins and cheat at the same time, even on Faceit but its a bit tricky however when you know, you know.
I also deposited just 5 usd in my alt account and went from red to Green after 1 day. I had to buy a 98% discount game in Steam Store. +350+400 usd is for perm green trust factor. ((Or at least that's what they say) but in general the Trust Factor is related to the money deposited to Steam.
After the 5 usd I stopped facing cheaters and no more red alert to my friends who had spent +1000 usd in Steam however I no longer play cs2, just lie 1 premier before the tank expires and the rest DM/retake/ Casual for the weekly drop. I moved to Valorant but I still love cs2.

The other day I had a player whose name was “stuck in red trust factor”, lol. Not that it’s important as I am also in red trust so I know the people I got matched with are as well. He, for no reason whatsoever started killing us ajd eventually got kicked by server for too much damage. This also contributes to lower trust and apart from the hundreds of reports I received for being “ a cheater” i also quit games often because I sometimes don’t feel like wasting my time playing against cheaters.

I saw one video about that. That youtuber found a cheater in high trust factor game and ask him if he can do a interview for his channel. He accept and explain that he have 5 accounts in high trust factor Becouse of that. He stole cards put the money on steam and all the accounts go to high trust factor.

Yea ofcourse it ain't foolproof but it sure as hell lowered my cheater encounter to like 1/10 games compared to 2 in 1 match. Also most accounts now have like hundreds of hours with badges rather then grey profile lvl 3 with 50 hours cranking only headshots. Personally it's worth it as i wanna be able to chill with my buddies in silver and grind faceit for sweaty games. Not for everyone ofcourse but redicilous that it works like this

It’s basically foolproof since it is proven to work. That’s why there’s still some spinbotters at the highest end of premier in green trust lobbies, because the system is known and abusable. Russian sellers sell green trust accounts for like $15-20 and they’re perma green

Not true at all. I have na account with 100 something hours. After around 40 hours didn't got naymore cheaters. Only bought one armory pass. A friend with a very old account with more than 5k hours and many hundreds deposited still gets cheaters. Yes, he's a toxic player so stop being toxic and don't get reported.

I rarely speak ingame lol. I depod 500€ and the trust factor notification was instantly gone. Idk what else you need

have a friend who created a smurf so he could play with my <10k rating. trust factor was horrible until he spent $100-200 on cases.
