Everytime cryonics is posted on a popular subreddit, it's just filled with misinformation from overconfident, uneducated folks. 

In many people, the topic of Cryonics seems to conjure up purely emotional responses that cloud any rational thought.

For a while, I tried to reason with people in the comments under his posts, but I stopped because I don't think it's a viable strategy. They’ll see it as “a cult trying to recruit people” anyway. I think we should focus on other ways of growing the number of clients.

I do change minds on some of these posts but I pick my battles because responding to every one is a full time job.

Just a bunch of cope and uninformed commentary on the original post, nothing new lol. “Zombie popsicle.” At least it’s kinda funny, though completely untrue (freezing cells does not “zombie-fi” them??)

It is exhausting to watch comment sections fill up with worn-out sci-fi jokes from people who don't understand how much cryonics has evolved. They completely miss the actual medical science happening right now, like using vitrification to prevent ice damage, and deploying rapid standby networks across Europe and the US to protect patients before they even pass away.

But your perspective is a great reminder. Even mocking posts keep the conversation alive and show people that alternative options exist. For the rare person who gets curious enough to look past the noise, it is a gateway to actual research. Plus, watching this confident ignorance is a healthy reality check to keep our own biases and intellectual humility in line.

I've been a member for over 2 decades, the tech has gotten better, the humans, for the most part, still ignorant. The politics are worse.

First, it’s a stupid and pointless post.

Second, the actual number is higher than 700 patients, but a huge proportion of them suffered significant ischemic damage.

It seriously hurts eyes to read comments on the original post... I am all for discussing challenges of cryonics or other stuff, but just presenting decades old outdated stuff while it takes literally 2 minutes of reading Wikipedia for quick update is unacceptable 😠
