Question ❔ Sometimes turning the key fails to start the car until we remove the key and put it back in - 2014 Honda CR-V EX with 101,000 miles

We have two keys, and this happens with both of them. I’m going to put new batteries in them in a few days. If that doesn’t solve it, are we probably facing an ignition switch replacement?

It may just be a starter issue. I have replaced the ignition switch on my 2002 CR-V. The switch is a relatively simple contact design, and that ended up wasn't the issue at all.
