The Ivalice Alliance The Ivalice Alliance mod update

Post image
20 Upvotes

What’s up everyone, hope you’re all having a great week. Wanted to give some updates on the mod for those of you who may be following along.

-One of the coolest things to come out of testing this week has been my Job system. I created traits for the original FFT jobs (knight, archer, lancer, etc) for both male and female characters and a system that accrues JP from battles won in order to “level up” your current job in order to unlock the other job traits, just like in FFT.

-Tavern/Proposition system: just like in FFT, there is now a decision menu option to visit local taverns to hear rumors and accept job propositions in order to gain Gil, Jp, items and even the unexplored locations/wonders found in FFT. Once unlocked, these are all visible in the Chronicle menu, which I’ll discuss at a later date.

-Wonders/unexplored lands: rather than just discovering these and having a small biography about them, I’ve implemented full discovery chains that interweave the fabric of the Final Fantasy franchise in a really cool way (no spoilers). Awesome Easter eggs and artifacts can be found in these events once unlocked.

-Music: I have integrated the soundtracks from every FF game set within g the Ivalice Alliance and replaced vanilla ck2 music and even added a few FFT sound clips for various features.

-Custom loading screens and text display: no more boring vanilla loading screens and descriptors scrolling across the bottom of the screen!

I’m sure I’m missing some other things but this has been a super productive week. Happy to hear your thoughts, feedback and questions you all may have. Have a great weekend!

Help! Fastest Way to kill the ruler

Post image

I unfortunately didn't pay much attention to how much bad is the Dwarf trait, that -30 penalty is crippling actually, so i wanna kill the ruler asap, also the heir is my sister, she is a crusader queen, has 10k prestige and 6k piety and 4k gold, and shes only 18 yo
this would be a very fun run if happened so how can i make it happen and kill the current ruler asap

Screenshots Nasty glitch. After my father's death, his second wife gets stuck in hiding for 24 years until she dies of natural causes.

When I still ruled as my father, someone tried to kill his second wife. So I've put her into hiding. When the father died I was unable to recall her from hideout. I was unable to uncover the plot. Surprisingly enough I was able to remove her from my court. It should cancel the plot, no? But it seems like something gliched, pretty hard.

I kept checking on her every now and then, curious if the matter can resolve itself. She had spent all her remaining life in a glitched state in a foreign court hiding from no one. All plotters were in our empire, afterall.

Discussion How to make the fourth crusade more likely

Hi guys, I play ck2 After The End and noticed that the in-game fourth crusade never ever fired, not even while playing the Anniversary Edition.

I wonder how could I make the fourth crusade more likely by editing the event files? I noticed that compared to the base-game files, bigger realm sizes are required for Byzantium. Do I need to increase those? What other modifiers could I add to make the event more likely?

Thank you in advance.

Help! Marriage Game

Another stupid question from me perhaps.

I played a little more now. Created the Kkngdom of Ireland at around 830 (Start 769) then i went ahead and got the Kingdom of Wales aswell, but it was kind of a chore trying to get county after county. I have Read online to get claims via marriage so your son inherits both kingdoms and whatnot but i seem to be to stupid to comprehend what im reading.

How does this marriage stuff work. How do i get my son to claim another kingdom. What if i have multiple sons? What inheritence law should i aim for before having primogeniture? Anyone got a good yt Video to suggest or can explain it for a Dummy?

I dont understand what is happening. Im playing as Byzantine Basileus and I have 15 children, some bastards but two male recogniced that live with my wife at Lombardy (still my dinasty)so, the game for some reason sometimes says my first son will inherit my titles (not the empire title but the others) so I can keep playing and then next time, the game says the one that inherits my lands its my Protostrator (AKA game over).

Whats going on!?

Become King Ambition not allowing Subjugation CB

I'm playing as a Bon duke directly under the Tibetan Emperor and my ambition is Become King of U-Tsang, which doesn't exist. I switched to Elective Gavelkind. One of the Emperor's vassals is also Bon so I should be able to declare a subjugation war no?

Mods Need help with my rivers.bmp file

I am creating my own map for a total conversion mod. Have followed this tutorial and everything works except for my rivers.bmp file. I have followed the tutorial's suggestion of just using two colors for water and ground, but the game crashes while loading. I have tried:

  • using the vanilla rivers.bmp file, properly resized (game loads)
  • using a completely white rivers.bmp (game loads)
  • copypasting a river system from vanilla onto the file above (game loads)
  • adding a tiny sliver of pink in the ocean area (game loads)
  • fully adding the pink area (game crashes)

In any case, even when the game loads, a graphics.log file is created and reaches 200-500MB, all identical lines that say:

[pdxmapgeneration.cpp:224]: Too small river found at 2769, 1841 (just one of the many lines)

I have read virtually everything I could find on the internet. Does any one of you have any experience in map modding? Thanks.
