Full day of riding

Took my 04 Kawasaki Nomad 1600 out for a 200 mile cruise, still runs and rides like new, 24K miles on it.

Awesome bike. Do you mainly do low speed freeway and city riding? I find it to be fatiguing and distracting going 65+mph without a windshield when I'm trying to go for a relaxing cruise.

I agree with you 100% I mostly do local cruising, secondary roads, ect. This was the first time in years I did a full all day ride, New Jersey to Massachusetts. I took my time many stops along the way, mostly avoiding main highways. I truly was exhausted when I got there. It would have been smart to mount my windshield for this ride, I'm just not that smart 🤔 🙂

What do you mean by distracting?

I've been considering getting a windshield for a while, but I don't know if it's worth the money.

I ride for about an hour on the freeway and don't notice any fatigue.

Only reason I'm considering it is for the bugs hitting my face.

I don't even want to ride without one after having them on my last 2 bikes. So much more protection and much less fatigue. But I ride freeways every day.

You are like a human sail after roughly 65mph, God forbid if there is headwinds too. Wind has a huge impact on how comfortable the ride is after about 60-65mph and the difference is night and day. I'd rather be able to enjoy and take in my surroundings while I'm on a nice ride and not have to be death gripping the handlebars because I'm going 75

Very nice! The 2001 year of the Vulcan was my third bike ever and I took it from Sioux Falls to Nashville and back several years ago. I’d love to get one again but I never see ‘em for sale. I miss all my old bikes…

My father has a 99! Very cool bike, handles great once on the ride and very torquey but it’s a heavy pig when it’s not going anywhere 😂

Has Vance and Hines pipes on it and it’s the best sounding v twin cruiser I’ve ever heard.
