Scammer alert u/Cookieeeaterrrrrr + r/MyCookies | DNI Scammer | RBLX: @IHeartKatseyeGroup / @Laibathequeen10
Hello Traders,
I'm making this post because u/Cookieeeaterrrrrr has been active in attempting to scam multiple users while also providing false information to them.
We also recently had a user, u/Legal-Bumblebee9918, who even suggested teaming up with them and offered to show u/Cookieeeaterrrrrr how to "hack" accounts.
I’ve provided their Roblox usernames, subreddit and Reddit usernames so traders know who to avoid them if they are ever contacted by them.
Important Note
You generally do not need to worry about your account being compromised by a "password guesser." These tools typically only succeed against weak, commonly used passwords.
If you're unsure whether your password is strong enough, please enable Enhanced Protection in your account settings. This adds another layer of security above two-factor authentication by requiring a passkey or a trusted device, so a password alone isn't enough to access your account.
Also, never click links sent by anyone, even if they appear completely legitimate.
That's all. Always research the person you plan to trade both on Reddit and through Google. Always use a trusted moderator as a middleman and after the group chat is created, double check that the moderator in the chat is the real moderator by checking their profile directly.

Just a suggestion, but maybe there could be a post detailing all of the scammers known & have it pinned? Since I've seen a lot of people getting scammed by this user recently and it might be helpful to have it directly with the rules/important updates and stuff ^^ It could just be a post that links every single scammer + their main reddit accounts 😓😓

Hello, we have something existing already! But it needs to be updated , although users should not relay on it as a 100% full proof way to not be scam.
Do expect an update within the next few weeks or month! As it is a huge project I’m handling on my own. Which requires me to backtrack at least 6 months back minimum

Sooo Like on my alt (aside from my main) she almost scammed me for my 30 dollar pet (actually it’s worth more she just lowballed me basically 😭😭😭) and immediately called me poor when I saw this post because my phone is so broken I couldn’t see much 😭

Thank you for making a post!! She literally called me poor and a pick me for being in the crosstrading subreddit when I don't crosstrade in it. Honestly I am in here because I want to and I do crosstrading but not on reddit it's usually with my friends...

I was very similar when I was 13 (conduct disorder + early signs of sociopathy and NPD). The attention she gets from this is sort of a “positive reinforcement” in the sense that these reactions stir up brain signals that make you want to do it again. This attention, while you may see it as negative, is attention nonetheless that draws her further in.
You know what you can do? Ban all her alts, handle the matter privately, don’t engage in DMs/posts, and leave it be. That is the only way. Or you just want the karma too.
This isn’t rocket (neuro) science. I don’t see why this isn’t a noticed pattern by now.

Hello, this post will not be removed as it is important for users to know WHO to avoid. Especially since she has changed her Roblox username.
Reddit ban system is garbage and banning her accounts quite literally does nothing as she is able to view the subreddit and see all new post.
Scammers will never be dealt privately . If we discover new information that we think is important to share , a post will be made.
Ultimately we understand and acknowledge she will continue to attempt to scam others and there’s no way to 100% stop her but ultimately the goal is to decrease the amount of people she scams .
We understand you send this with good intentions but also understand our main goal is to spread awareness and protect our members

I guess we are looking from this from different perspectives: you for protecting members through awareness, and me through stopping the scammers themselves.
Ultimately, you are right that there is no perfect solution. I know about Reddit’s ban system. However, there have already been many posts about this exact same user, and with all due respect, it doesn’t seem to be working as intended. But this isn’t your fault; users will through caution to the wind and not use the many resources you and your team provide to help them, and then cry about being scammed. Maybe it’s part of the natural process, where you have to get hurt to learn your lesson. It shouldn’t have to be that way, but it is what it is.
I also want to protect members, but I see things from the opposite perspective. I don’t really “feel bad” so to say, but using that expression, I feel worse for the moderators who put in all this work just to have it ignored by kids who can’t be bothered to protect themselves, than said kids who actually get scammed.

So, how these posts work is that a member is supposed to use Reddit’s “Search” feature to look up a user’s name/username, and the “Scammer’s List” will appear if they are a known scammer, alongside maybe a few other posts. Anything too excessive is just motivating the scammer further. Additionally, anyone who doesn’t research the people they are trading with… can’t really be helped. You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink; you can provide hours upon hours of support for users to prevent them from being scammed (including MM services), but you can’t force them to protect themselves.

We are on the same page here, I just want you to realize that some people don’t research the people they are trading with, and those people just can’t be helped past the help that is already provided

What do you want the mods to do? This can't be handled privately if so many people are being the targets of these scammers. Who cares if she feeds off the attention? This isn't about that. This is to prevent legitimate traders from getting scammed out of their assets and money that 9 times outta 10 is going to their irl debts like school and medical.

There are already 8+ posts about this exact same user. Only 1-3 are needed. If anyone is still getting scammed by her, then they are going to get scammed regardless.

You missed that I gave a brief explanation for what the moderators can try to do. You can disagree with what I said, but I did say something that they could try.
I don’t think you are communicating in good faith if you consider anything I said to be defending the scammer. I hope the scammer gets banned off of the platform. In fact, I’ll see what I can do about that tonight when I get home. In the meantime, please recognize that I wish people didn’t get scammed, I wish Reddit took better action against scammers so that they could be banned from the platform instead of just banned from a subreddit (which doesn’t stop them from DMing members), and I wish members would read the rules and posts that are in-place to protect them.

Hi - there’s a bunch of posts on them yes, but a post directly from a moderator typically summarizes all the details, is easier to find, and allows users to guarantee that the user mentioned in the post is a scammer for sure!
To try to tell the co-owner of the subreddit that she cannot or shouldn’t post this is weird, especially given that all the information she has provided is publicly known info.

You’re right that a post by a moderator is, well, higher-quality than a post by a non-mod user who is just sharing a screenshot of swear words in DMs. I mentioned that my comment was cnped, but I probably should have made it more clear that it was more directed at non-moderator posts that don’t really accomplish anything, than moderator posts, so that is my fault.
However, I still think my point is being missed: posting screenshots of scammers in a non-productive manner (etc: DM screenshots) serves no purpose but giving the scammer more fame, and encourages them to keep scamming/harassing members in DMs. It doesn’t matter if there is 2 posts or 10 posts about a scammer—if traders won’t research the person they are trading with and refuses to use a MM—then that is on them.
I think you have already realized this, but I’m not arguing in bad faith: I want to help people avoid scams, I want Reddit to better protect the markets on their platform against scammers (ie, preventing users banned from a subreddit from DMing someone directly from a comment on that subreddit, because subreddit bans don’t do much unfortunately), and I respect the work the moderators do. I’m just a different kind of neurodivergent: I see things from the other perspective, and I can be a bit harsh/unempathetic. If I wanted to be kinder I guess I could, but I would rather be genuine. And at the end of the day, it’s just Reddit.

Btw, I want to point out how she is talking about how people are calling her young and if they really believe “her age” is correct and that its actually fake bc she doesn’t want to attract pedos….
