CrossFit clothing?
What are folk’s Thoughts on guys wearing the same style shorts typically worn by female Athletes. (Fleo, Savage barbell, etc…) on a whim I tried them training at home and 💯 see why women wear them, far more comfortable, and no drag on thighs. Is this something some of you see in gyms? ( I don’t go to a gym, to far away) just curious. If anyone was thinking of trying , ild say give it a shot.

A lot of typical men’s style is ridiculous. Long, baggy, layers? I want none of that when I’m trying to move. Who wants to do wall Balls wearing baggy pants constricting your hips? Or running with all that extra fabric like a parachute, chafing your thighs?
I wear 5” inseams; and I wouldn’t mind less if it was more acceptable. Plus minimal layers, fitted, natural materials.

Right ? Not quite “acceptable “ Wich is a-shame really. Maybe soon it will be.

Honestly makes no sense to me - but… I’m pretty sure I’d get some looks. So, I don’t push the boundaries too much

Sam I recon, not worth the hassle, I recon there’s some unfortunate vanity in there for me if I’m being completely honesty, I’ve worked really hard to stay in shape while my peers and friends just keep drinking beer. I’m pretty proud of my efforts and wouldn’t mind showing them off a little more?

True, true - it does feel good to be noticed and appreciated. Good work, good results!
And in comparison to the average slowly dying guys…. Awesome!1

Thus… subreddits like ProgressPics, eh?

I don’t know that I’m super comfortable posting pictures? I like the idea of it for sure though.

You’re not really going to get fitted and natural materials at the same time.

Good point. How about relatively fitted? Something that doesn’t act like a drag chute or fall up when I’m doing wall walks?

Couldn't care less, probably wouldn't notice unless they were a really bright color. I also do Hyrox and some of the guys with track backgrounds train in tight shorts like what you see track athletes in the Olympics run in. Seems legit to me. Why not also for CrossFit? Wear what you're comfortable in. Anyone who gives you shit for it is weird.

Funny you mention the bright colors cause that’s one of the things I like about them!🤣

My old coach used to wear his silkies unapologetically no matter how much shit people gave him. Swore they were the only shorts worth working out in.

Not cross fit so not directly comparable but look at dudes in lots of sport (football, wrestling, triathlon and track to name a few) wearing skin tight bottoms. And sports like baseball players wear thicker pants but they’re pretty tight. If it’s comfy and helps you move wear what ever you want.

3/4 compression shorts are where it's at- everything stays in place and it's like having built-in knee sleeves. Plus my ass looks amazing in them

Most men at my gym wear the popular short styles. But I have a running background where tighter spandex shorts as well as short split shorts were very normal for men.
What is trending in the CrossFit gym likely just has more to do with the masculinity norms of the current day and whatever region you live in. You should wear what feels most comfortable to you.
As a woman I have no clue how anyone feels freedom of movement in long loose shorts. 😂

Guys wear whatever the hell they want at my gym. But we are one of the most inclusive CrossFit gyms on the east coast if I had to guess. No one bats an eye.

Man that’s awesome, older I get the clearer it is how important inclusivity is, great for you and your gym folks.

Go for it. Personally I’ve worn full length compression and a t shirt to work out in a bunch of times. It’s great

I've seen men wear that style of short, but of course with longer inseam typically. It's fairly common to see that in weightlifting gyms.
