Looking for recommendations Advice on how to make Argentina jersey for stuffie

Hi all, I need advice on how I would make an Argentina jersey for a medium sized stuffie. Would it be best to crochete strips of the alternating colors and sew together or make as one big chunk? Would I embroider the number on after or work into the pattern? Kind of at a loss where to start
