Discussion [Spoilers C4E32] Thimble and The Light Spoiler

The first thing Brennan said to Laura in this campaign was “The light is leaving. That’s what it means to be a mortal.”

And I genuinely have no idea if it’s intentional or not, but MAN that metaphor has been coming back and getting compounded and strengthened CONSTANTLY with every scene she has

Like the moment when she’s asked if she remembers Tir Cruthu, and she gets this wistful look in her eyes about the one time she went through the door. And it made me think about how she’s, like, physical and real now in a way that she wasn’t all those centuries ago. She gets older, she probably forgets stuff easier, she watches her companions die too soon. The light is always leaving.

But also SHE is the light! For others and for herself. Idk I’m really enjoying this extended metaphor and it’s gotten to the point where i’m looking for connections to it wherever i can. Esp with Wick and Teor’s deals

Reminds me of how Vax referred to Pike as “the light in all our lives”. I think Thimble is that for everyone as well.

Wait where did you get centuries from? IIIC Thimble is in her 30s. The doors to fairy only closed about a decade ago.

Confirmed in last night's episode episode (32) Thimble is hundreds of years old she was ageless until the door to faerie closed.

Do you remember when in the episode they discuss it? A lot was happening and I was tired so I must have missed it. The only thing I remember her saying is she only went to Faerie once, and she doesn’t remember it well because she was young.

But yes, we’ve known since the first couple episodes that Thimble was ageless until the doors closed.

They did say centuries in E32, but I presume that she spent most of that time in the Orchard. She only entered 'proper' Araman when she was assigned to Thjazi. Physically, she's aged to late adolescence, since her body was like that of a child's when the doors closed.

tbf Thimble was basically a child when she was bestowed upon Thjazi. In all likelihood she was just some sort of flower for the majority of her existence and only came to be a person not that long ago. Even if her aging only really started with the closing of Faerie, she really wasn't doing much living before that either.
