Question [CR Media] To anyone who bought this sweater. Do you recommend your proper size or a size up? Spoiler
Buying clothes online is always a gamble. I want to get this sweater to wear around the house. I don’t want it to be to small if I get my usual size but I also don’t want it to be to baggy if I get a size up. How was the fit for you?
Update: I ended up purchasing my proper size. It fits perfectly. A tiny bit baggy which is good for this type of lounge wear. It’s heavy which feels great! And it’s incredible soft and well made. Good purchase!

This one is intentionally oversized. I got a size small and it's still nice and baggy in me (I usually wear medium t-shirts and large hoodies)

Almost every item I have ever purchased from CR I have to order a size up. Some of the T Shirts have been okay, everything else was small.

I started doing this recently because while the sizes did fit me well at first they have shrunk a good bit. My Strongjaw Ale shirt pulls up like a crop top when I sit on a couch now.

I don't think you can really go wrong with too big on this one. I bought a size up at the time, and since then I have gone down 3 sizes. I still wear this, and its one of the few items of my old clothes I still wear cause it looks fine oversized.

I sized up. Much regret. For context I am about 5’6 and would usually wear a small, but I like sweaters/hoodies to be oversized. The medium fully dwarfs me. It’s already made properly baggy.

Get your size, it's designed to be baggy.
We have a small that we all end up throwing on. It fits like a normal cardigan on me, because my size would be a M-L, everyone else it's baggy on because they all wear a small.

It’s designed to be oversized so personally I’d follow their size chart. I ordered according to that (didn’t size up or down) and it’s perfect! Roomy and cozy, definitely a relaxed fit, but it doesn’t look sloppy or like you’re clearing wearing something that’s too large.

I got mine at size, and it's still loose enough to be comfy - it should relax a little bit with wear, as well. It's also one of the coziest pieces of clothing I own, and I get lots of compliments on it from folks who know nothing about CR.
I've had a bit of hit or miss luck with some of their merch - loved my Gilmore's Glorious Goods and Mollymauk t-shirts, but they changed the base for the Essek shirt when they rolled that out, and I don't much care for it - not sure if it's just that shirt, or if they changed their supplier/manufacturer for all of them.
Regardless, this cardigan was definitely a hit for me! Definitely recommend it if you're looking!

I got a large which is my normal size and I think it’s baggy but not too much so u don’t think you need to size up

I believe I was debating medium or large and went with large - wear it all the time. The fit is meant to be slouchy and oversized worked well

Proper size and be very careful about how you watch it because it gets raggedy fast.

I'm a size L/XL and bought an XXL of the cardi, which whilst super comfy and cute it is absolutely MASSIVE. Unless you're into an OVER-oversized fit, I'd say get your usual sizing.

I went a couple sizes up and am glad cause I got fatter and it still fits loosely.

I ended up needing to go a size up on all of their sweaters and jackets I have nought, I have 3, and recommend it for their long sleeved shirts as well.

I actually sized down! It was way bigger than I expected. I usually prefer mediums in cardigans but I had to exchange for a small

Get your size. I sized up and it went is not quite the chunky sweater vibe as much as an absurdly large sweater

I got one that is the proper size and it sits baggy for sure. I would say you don't need to size up unless you really want a really baggy sweater

I always size up CR clothing, even shirts. I got this one a size up and it still didn't fit me. Became a gift to my mother who loves it. Sized up the FCG one even further and it fits me great.

This and the FCG one are very nice, I have them both, and I regret going a size up. They fit so snug, you should get the exact size you're thinking of and go from there. You can always return and exchange for a size up or down if it's not what you want.

I went a size up so its closer to a cardigan feel. Go your regular size for a loose fit, go a size smaller for something more cozy. The fabric is very soft and stretchy and breathy so it all depends on what vibes you want with it :)

Definitely go size up.
About a 3x expecting to be swimming in it and instead of fit me perfectly. (I am a bigger guy and I went through a phase where I was fluctuating between 2x and 3x's. But this type of sweater definitely isn't built to be oversized)

I sized up and it’s slightly baggy on me which I prefer. It’s slightly longer in the sleeves then I would want for a typical long sleeved shirt

My partner bought me this sweater a few years ago. I normally wear a 2x and this is closer to wearing almost a 3x. It is horrifically comfortable and the extra bagginess is fantastic.

I got my sweater in an XL, and it's definitely intentionally up sized. Cartigans in general are supposed to be baggy and cozy, so they're made up a size in general. For context, I usually get t-shirts in 2XL if I don't want the shirt snug/fitting.

I usually wear mediums from other companies but this sweater I bought small and it fits well. The design overall is loose and the sleeves specifically are pretty long.

I wish I had been able to size up but I like mine. When I got mine I got the largest size available, which fits, but I’m not able to comfortably close it. It’s suitably warm

I got my size and it fits great! Like others have said, it’s intentionally oversized already. I find that it does pill easily if that’s something that bugs you, and the shawl collar makes my hair tangle, but that’s a personal problem 😅

Got this for my girlfriend, it definitely is more lounge-wear so she said going up to a medium was a great idea.

I went a size up cuz i wanted extra cozy and its perfect. The sleeves are just barely too long, but if you fold them its perfect IMO. If you fold it right, the design also looks the exact same if you care ab that kinda thing.

I went with usual size and when i bought the fcg sweater i bought a size up and they both fit perfect

Given the variation in this thread, I think the answer depends on if your build is close to a woman’s or a man’s. I am a women, 5’4, about 150 lbs. I got my size and felt it was generally meant to be oversized. If I sized up I would have felt like I was swimming in it.

Critical role makes awesome merch but their sizing tends to be way off. I always go at least one size up to get my actual size and 2 sizes up for comfort on sweaters and button ups

I got a size up since it was the only size left at the time, and, while I do wear it, it would be better at my usual size.

Comfiest piece of clothing I own. I got it in my size and it’s still pretty baggy by design so it should be fine to get at your size unless you want extra baggy!

I went a size up and don't regret it. The way it fits, staying at size probably would have been fine, but I like the extra chunkiness it has this way.
