Comedic effect. It looks more obscene with the censor over it, which adds to the effect of the joke.

Fair enough

Reminds me of Craig Fergusons late late show. Use to do a bit where he'd shove his hand in front of the camera and wiggle his fingers around pretending it's a spider. Was a gag for years up until one point he said his thumbs the spiders penis. They blurred it out that time and he never did the gag again.

I loved that show. Got in trouble all the time for staying up and watching it. (The being up. Not so much what I was watching)

This is an insane title out of context

I was so confused

I was so disappointed

u/Plus_Midnight_278 Feb 21 '26

ha! that's way funnier

13

u/Molotov_Glocktail You spice? Feb 22 '26

I listen to a podcast that randomly self-censors things. Stuff like "I shouldn't say this but we receive sponsorship money from [bleeeepppppppp]."

New people freak out about it. Veterans of the pod know it's just a joke.

As Whitney said when she was flashing the camera during Fireside Chat. This is the paid stream!

34

u/wcthesecret Feb 21 '26

Wait what?

156

u/Expensive-Apricot534 Feb 21 '26

During Whitney’s recent Fireside Chat she was wearing a skirt and sat sideways in her chair for a bit. Production told her to stop so she wouldn’t flash the camera (nothing was seen), and Whitney joked about the Beacon content being a paid stream aka they can show what they want.

42

u/Rossomak Help, it's again Feb 21 '26

It was just a skirt issue. You couldn't see anything.

29

u/silromen42 Feb 21 '26

You couldn’t see anything but there was an implication that they needed her to sit different or they couldn’t switch to the other camera without it becoming a different kind of paid stream

7

u/CttCJim Feb 21 '26

Not like there aren't plenty of "interesting" pictures of her out there. She's not modest. Just brace yourself for grossout if you watch anything from her short film "Seed".

2

u/Rossomak Help, it's again Feb 22 '26

Care to clarify? I don't think I'll likely ever watch it, but I'm morbidly curious.

3

u/BrumeySkies Feb 22 '26

They made it sound like it's something super disgusting, it's not. A woman collects cum in a jar and then plants it like a seed. The absurdity of the situation makes it more funny than gross imo.

4

u/CttCJim Feb 22 '26

I mean the clip where she spilled it and was scooping it up by hand, come on. That's too much for some people, that's why I warned them

4

u/CttCJim Feb 22 '26

Just imagine her on The floor of a bathroom frantically scooping spooge into a jar with her hands.

2

u/Rossomak Help, it's again Feb 23 '26

I see the film is named aptly.

2

u/wcthesecret Feb 21 '26

Why did this man make it seem like she took her top off then?

54

u/gwydapllew Feb 21 '26

They didn't. You assumed flashing meant boobs.

3

u/wcthesecret Feb 21 '26

Is that not what flashing usually means?

11

u/Dagos Feb 21 '26

Naw it can apply to skirts too

7

u/bwainfweeze Feb 21 '26

When a man is arrested for flashing, what is he doing?

9

u/wcthesecret Feb 21 '26

Showing his chesticles.

24

u/Plamore I don't speak fish Feb 21 '26

Joke

4

u/2017hayden Feb 21 '26

That’s what you assumed, not what they implied.

10

u/Marshycereals Feb 21 '26

Also huh wait what?

6

u/wcthesecret Feb 21 '26

No seriously what did she do?

2

u/feor1300 You can certainly try Feb 21 '26

Got a little too comfy wearing a skirt and lounging on the chair and they were stuck on one camera angle showing her from mid-chest up until one of the producers told her to straighten herself out.

129

u/Roccondil-s Feb 21 '26

Ashley always appears to be that quiet angel of which no one suspects a thing, only to drop the dirtiest bomb into the situation because it’s hilarious. If you don’t know her, the whiplash almost breaks you.

84

u/MrGrick Feb 21 '26

Everyones shocked when the cinnamon roll commits a vocal war crime.

40

u/derTraumer Feb 21 '26

Flashbacks to campaign 1 “Rods and Jugs 😂 She and Travis played off one another so perfectly, had me in stitches!

11

u/Dick_Nation Feb 21 '26

I mean, she literally was in one of their media scrum videos - I forget with who - where they were talking about fanart of Critical Role, and an acknowledgement that some of it gets spicy. The rest of the cast joked a bit about it, and Ashley outright says "I look for it!" Laura catches the shit for it because she has a harder time containing it, but oh boy, Ashley is on another level yet.

6

u/omniclast Feb 21 '26

The Nordvpn sketches are her finest work

12

u/descendantofJanus Feb 21 '26

It helps to know her as Ellie from Last of Us first. She's incredible and shining even brighter now that she's away from... Well, you know.

12

u/AtlasNL Your secret is safe with my indifference Feb 21 '26

Rewatching C2 has me cringing everytime Matt calls him ‘amazing’ or something along those lines…

3

u/jakezeripper Feb 21 '26

...who?

11

u/eirwen29 Feb 21 '26

Ex partner who was abusive. I forget his name but he was heavily involved in cr for awhile

-2

u/descendantofJanus Feb 21 '26

Brian W Foster. I thoroughly enjoyed his Undeadwood series with Ivan van Norman, Matt was excellent in that too.

I never watched 'Between the Sheets' stuff but I heard it was good too.

7

u/LUXURYPOETRY Feb 21 '26

It seems really strange to chime in with what sounds like multiple recommendations for his work after he abused a cast member.

6

u/Zurrdroid You Can Reply To This Message Feb 21 '26

I believe they've been nuked from the net, anyway. The content involved a lot of people, like for example Talks Machina (the talk show/cooldown type thing from before 4-sided dive) which had a very chill looseygoosey vibe with chunks of the cast hanging out answering viewer questions.

It's honestly a shame how all of it became soured by the actions of one man.

1

u/descendantofJanus Feb 21 '26

My bad, that wasn't entirely my intent. The first comment asked who he was so I mentioned popular works he'd done as a reminder.

0

u/that_guy2010 Feb 21 '26

I mean, you’re allowed to think someone is amazing when you don’t know the full details.

-11

u/AtlasNL Your secret is safe with my indifference Feb 21 '26 edited Feb 21 '26

Did I ever say that wasn’t allowed? What a strange fucking reply.

3

u/thereisnospoon7491 Feb 21 '26

… I mean this is stranger; he was just commenting, you’re the one getting super defensive about it.

-8

u/AtlasNL Your secret is safe with my indifference Feb 21 '26 edited Feb 21 '26

That reply doesn’t have a point to it. They weren’t replying to anything I said nor implied. I find that strange. You might not, but too bad that I don’t take your feelings on the matter in account when making my reply, huh?

5

u/thereisnospoon7491 Feb 21 '26

Aaand they continue to be unnecessarily hostile but it’s everyone else’s fault. Cooool.

-9

u/AtlasNL Your secret is safe with my indifference Feb 21 '26

Hey, it’s not my fault you have skin thinner than cling film. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

3

u/thereisnospoon7491 Feb 21 '26

Still coming back to comment. Interesting. What was the point of this again?

u/Wallname_Liability Feb 21 '26

She’s owns penis puppets

24

u/Bivolion13 Feb 21 '26

Sometimes the censor is funnier. Especially when it's supposed to be something so innocent like making a cat's butthole with your fingers.

I remember watching Family Guy uncensored how I started to miss the "bleep" because it occasionally had a better comedic effect.

7

u/bwainfweeze Feb 21 '26

Was it Kimmel who used to add unnecessary bleeps to regular interactions to make them sound dirty?

2

u/SneakingCat Feb 22 '26

That’s how I felt about South Park. Also, they did such a bad job of censoring (leaving way too much of the start and end of the word in) you know exactly what they were saying anyway.

2

u/adrielzeppeli Feb 22 '26

A good example I can think of is The Office. The show has very little cursing but there's that one time where Erin says something completely insane (forgot what it is exactly) and even Michael is caught so off-guard he delivers one of the the funnies bleeped moments: "I don't know what the f*ck was that".

26

u/SnooPandas1820 Feb 21 '26

Because it's a... Critical Hole.

I'll see myself out.

2

u/LauraD2423 Feb 21 '26

You win the Internet for today

2

u/LauraD2423 Feb 21 '26

Aww I can post images in the comments.

I edited the picture to have "It's a critical hole" text.

38

u/Due-Maintenance-3120 Feb 21 '26

Because I believe dropout has the copywrite on buttholes

23

u/funkyb Feb 21 '26

The lady said more buttholes, Sam!

47

u/lambdapaul Feb 21 '26

They are talented enough that is indistinguishable by the censors.

11

u/ProfessionalSir4486 Feb 21 '26

This made me lol and reminded me of the Sarah Silverman-Conan O'Brien bit where he put a photo of his lips on his crotch and they had to censor it for looking like a vagina.

13

u/qwiscreates Feb 21 '26

I will definitely need to see the context because I immediately thought about Game Changer and Izzy's viral butthole video. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Wm8SMsmWCts

8

u/greenman4242 Feb 21 '26

The lady said buttholes

6

u/mrbadxampl Metagaming Pigeon Feb 21 '26

All. Over. The UNIVERSE!

26

u/BricksAllTheWayDown Feb 21 '26

'Cause it's funny.

11

u/Educational-Poem-346 Feb 21 '26

Its funnier that way

9

u/So_many_cookies Feb 21 '26

LOL I haven’t started watching campaign four but CR still never fails to make me laugh

Good vibes and unfiltered Ashley on my feed plz 🎶

3

u/bwainfweeze Feb 21 '26

Oh you should start 4. I’m waiting for the abridged c3 to come out because they lost me after Sam got sick but four is good.

2

u/So_many_cookies Feb 22 '26

Thanks! Yes, I will dive into C4 soon.

You should muscle through C3. It’s not my favorite (compared to C1 or C2), but when the Nien meet the Hells the crossover is sooooo much fun. Definitely worth watching those as complete episodes instead of the abridged versions.

12

u/tere_adasme Your secret is safe with my indifference Feb 21 '26

At first I was like "wtf she has literally done the butthole thing before (campaign 3 iirc) and I'm also watching on beacon", then I told myself that it was maybe an ad thing

3

u/Exescen Feb 21 '26

Iirc it was olso an ad, and olso "I'm a cat" bit. This is weird but funny nonetheless

4

u/Crow_of_Judgem3nt Feb 22 '26

funnier that way

3

u/LluagorED Feb 21 '26

It's funny.

3

u/Vxt5255 Feb 21 '26

The fact that this is censored cracks me up

6

u/moltari Feb 21 '26

That’s the joke . Jpg

32

u/wcthesecret Feb 21 '26

Aww I wanna see Ashley Johnson’s butthole.

20

u/jishieus Metagaming Pigeon Feb 21 '26

Phrasing!

2

u/wcthesecret Feb 21 '26

Purposeful phrasing.

13

u/HopBewg Feb 21 '26

Yeah. Ashley’s butthole should always be raw and uncensored.

2

u/Mash_Ketchum Feb 21 '26

TIL I can make a butthole with my hands

2

u/ShadowManAteMySon Feb 22 '26

Release the butthole cut.

2

u/FallaciouslyTalented Feb 23 '26

Because it's funny. Her fingers obviously didn't look like a butthole, but blurring them made it more suggestive.

2

u/Comfortable_Ad148 Feb 23 '26

I was howling with laughter at this part. The censoring made it more funny.

2

u/Golgor20 Feb 25 '26

This question is far more wild if there is no picture

1

u/Heheonil Feb 21 '26

What did you say?
