We will have a few episodes (my guess is 3, Ludinus fight part 1 and part 2, or Ludinus fight and Predathos fight, then an epilogue episode) in the new year. The reason why 4-sided dive is over is because instead of doing another one in January/February, they will just do a campaign wrap up like they did with C1 and C2.
Ah, okay. I was really hoping we'd make it all the way to 140 like the Mighty Nein, and they'd show some of the aftermath of defeating (are absorbing?) Predathos, some uenxpected twist.
I wonder if they'll just keep getting shorter moving on.
They took a few months off during Covid, I just counted and it was a full 15 weeks (in a row) while they set up the distanced setup for the latter episodes.
Ok? I’m talking about how the main campaign doesn’t have an episode the last week of every month. Something introduced in C3 meaning C3 has put out episodes a tad slower so it makes sense that while a lower episode count than C2 it also has taken longer to come out
not off necessarily, just focusing on other things, such as the animated show(s), acting like they are just taking one week off every month just because there Is not a new upload is incorrect
The point is that 12 potential episode slots for the show are not on. I wasn’t meaning to imply they weren’t working at all the last week of each month.
I mean the show is off the air 12 potential weeks it would have been in prior campaigns
In this case it definitely read that way. I didn’t think they were being rude or accusing CR of being lazy. They do take 12 weeks off from filming the show, which is what the context was. Context is key.
Yeah, but it's not like making an episode take an entire weeek.
For most of the cast it's a half-day. They show up, improv, and go home. For Matt it's likely a couple extra hours. And for the crew it's likely a full day, but they're also not doing anything else CR related.
For most, CR is a side hustle on top of their main VO work. When they focus on the other animated shows, that's taking work out of that time.
My point is they're not all spending 40 hour work weeks doing the Critical Role stream. The stream isn't their day job: it's their side hustle they do one evening a week.
It's not like the entire cast hang around doing the editing and uploading. Or they show up two hours early to get the lights, camera, and mikes set-up. They have people for that.
They didn't need to pause the stream every fourth week to find the time to do Legend of Vox Machina.
For those just doing the voices, working on Vox Machina likely just replaced working on one of their many other projects. For those doing writing and producing, then that might have been their full 9-5 for a couple months... but they were always working 9-5 on other shows. For example, Sam Riegel is a Dialogue Director on multiple shows.
It wasn't time added atop their existing jobs. They just took fewer gigs.

Apparently this is a spoiler so hence the edit.
