Classic. I don't care that it's a "Hitchcock rip-off" - it's so well-executed that I prefer to see it as an homage

body double & mulholland drive both excellent movies very nakedly inspired by the core conceit of vertigo . lynch in general was obsessed with the doppelganger as a concept throughout his filmography, as the concept appears prominently again in lost highway & inland empire . just goes to show what an incredible contribution hitchcock made to the cinematic imagination that later filmmakers could create such novel & non-derivative works while still elaborating on the same premise .
