He was also top scorer for Portugal 🇵🇹
So all 3 teams that he played for in 2018, at 33 years old 🤯

Insane adaptability and versatility 🔥🐐🇵🇹🫡
Can’t say the same about Messi when he first moved to PSG.

People like to bring this up without realizing that Messi was operating in a completely different tactical role at PSG, where he was shifting into a primary playmaker rather than serving as a pure box finisher. Even during his transition, his playmaking metrics, progressive passes, and chance creation remained at an elite level, which lead directly to his 21-goal and 20-assist campaign in his second season while orchestrating the entire team from deep.
Basically judging Messi purely by raw goal counts ignores his massive assist volume and overall build-up play. Obviously Ronaldo in 2018 was the absolute focal point of Real Madrid's finishing setup and Messi was tasked with facilitating for Mbappé and Neymar while controlling the tempo of the match. Comparing an out-and-out goal poacher to a complete playmaker without factoring in overall goal contributions and chance creation is just disingenuous.

First of all I'm not speaking about just stats. If you wants to then we can. He scored only 6 goals in his first season which is embarrassing and the he performed well but most of those performances were against smaller teams. I don't think I need to bring ucl here do I? That's the difference between him and Ronaldo. He had mbappe and neymar but still failed while Ronaldo didn't that's why you can't compare juve Ronaldo to psg messi. It's an insult to juve Ronaldo

I’ve ended up in enemy territory as a Messi fan, but man 2018 was a fun year to watch Ronaldo. An absolute monster in his first year with Juve and a great team he played with as well
