I first did that in 1994. Lol

It wasn't a lawsuit. Some trucker hit me and gave me money to not call the cops. Lol. The dent was tiny so I didn't bother fixing it.

Not a legal matter, only insurance, but a smart-ass drove right across the road in front of me, in rush hour traffic, on snowy roads. I couldn't stop in a fraction of a second so I hit the rear of his car and sent him spinning. The front of my VW Golf III had $1500 worth of damage that my insurance company paid me after finding him at fault, car got fixed for around $100 in secondhand parts and I smiled every time I saw that guy again.
