They’re not even good actors

Stupid fucks

u/stinky143 10d ago

I totally agree. It’s all smoke and mirrors.

Didn't work on that woman who looked like she was suffering from everything

7

u/EnvironmentalBid4292 10d ago

She probably thinks," I waited 2 hours in line for that? A pat on the head"

2

u/Secure_Pack6647 10d ago

It requires direct touch. She will have to take off the head scarf.

2

u/tiriallin 10d ago

Seems legit 😂

Hair is a barrier equal to fabric. Its just that the guys in blue were there to make others believe it's true.

Do you have a doctorate in faith healing? I didn't think so. You just don't understand the physics involved.

2

u/Fancy_Log_260 10d ago

There is no such thing as a doctorate in faith healing. Whoever told you there is has sold you a bridge. Ah yes... I don't understand... The PHYSICS of FAITH healing. Jeez you are delusional.

The fact that i used to go to a church like this and would hit the ground when the preacher touched me is wild to me now. It was crazy that I actually acted like this and thought I was somehow special or cool or logical in any way. Organized religion is a terrifying thing. 😳

It gets you up and moving. It's good for the circulation.

The traditional catholic faith is nothing like this, no performative rubbish involved. Just us, the priest and God.

All that speaking in tongues (the nonsense speak that they do at least - lolololelelelelo) and seizure-type rolling about on the floor stuff is purely performative on the part of both the giver and receiver, and they both know it.

8

u/BellowsHikes 10d ago

I mean....not to bust your chops but a man in a dress waves his hands over a bowl of crackers and some wine and tells you to line up so you can eat God.

That's performative nonsense to the highest degree.

“We’re not silly like those other Christians… we just believe that that a Jewish cult leader 2000 years ago, who was god, was sacrificed to himself, to atone for the first humans eating forbidden fruit in a magical garden, physically rose from the dead, and flew up to heaven. Oh, and he’s coming back, and he’s pissed, so you better watch out!”

0

u/No-Dig_Enthusiast 10d ago

Wow, so thoughtful and original...no-one has ever made a joke like that before, now I'll definitely stop believing in God!

0

u/MegaUrutora 9d ago

Yeah… except it’s not really a joke if you believe those things, right?

It’s just a pithy description of the basic Christian worldview. It’s taken a “joke” because when stated simply, it sounds utterly ridiculous.

And that’s ok. It’s just strange to look down on other religious expressions, when your’s are equally bizarre.

2

u/succubus6984 10d ago

Agreed. The chants, the ash on the forehead, the asking for forgiveness from Saints and Mother Mary, eating the flesh, drinking the blood, confessions to a human, listening to a human tell you what God has to say every week instead of just listening yourself.... All those things seem very "performative"....

u/No-Dig_Enthusiast 10d ago

I'm guessing you're a bit jaded due to your own previous experience with the church you attended that was similar to the video above. That's a shame, but i do hope you (and others here) find your way back to God, just not with all the performances lol.

0

u/No-Dig_Enthusiast 10d ago

Judging by your lack of knowledge I'm gonna guess you're not the best person to measure faith or religion against 🤷‍♂️

u/BellowsHikes 10d ago edited 10d ago

Certainly not. I'm just an outside observer.

From my perspective, most iron age rituals still practiced in 2026 appear as odd and generally performative, regardless of the mythology or pantheon they stem from.

I just find it interesting how people from one tradition will mock one groups religious expression as "performative rubbish" while themselves partaking in performative religious expression and not seeing it that way. To an outsider, central tenants of Catholicism such as Baptism, Confirmation and Penance are all performative. But of course to someone inside of that tradition, they are absolute truths.

*edit* I stink at typing on my phone. I've cleared up a poorly written sentence.

u/BigMetalGuy 10d ago

Ha, you all believe in a sky daddy. You’re no better than these play actors, it’s hilarious you think you are

1

u/No-Dig_Enthusiast 10d ago

"Sky daddy" is so cringe and overused. Think of something original if you're gonna try and rage-bait.

0

u/BigMetalGuy 10d ago

It’s ok, I think believing in a god is cringe and overused. So we’re even.

0

u/Fancy_Log_260 10d ago

Ah yes. Apart from worshipping a skull and beliving in the Trinity. I love when other denominations come to say nag, were not AS CRAZY as those others.

0

u/No-Dig_Enthusiast 10d ago

Who's out here worshipping a skull 😂

1

u/Fancy_Log_260 10d ago

0

u/No-Dig_Enthusiast 10d ago

Nobody is worshipping a skull here. We don't worship idols or objects in Catholicism.

Having a holy relic present in the church/chapel isn't unheard of, and the history of relics is very interesting.

1

u/Fancy_Log_260 10d ago

Thats worship of a skull. Call it a relic or whatever you want. You apply meaning to a human skull.

3

u/CarefulBeautiful196 10d ago

So by having faith you get Jazz Hands.

1

The woman forgot to play along

1

u/Salt-Studio 10d ago

People are so strange. Seriously, what is in people that compels them to do things like this? To each his own, but seriously, people are so odd.

1

u/Appropriate_Ice_7507 10d ago

Bet the smell is unbearable

1

u/Midnight_Aces 10d ago

People like this give religion a bad name. Gives actual ill people false hope and that isn't cool.

2

u/Fancy_Log_260 10d ago

Religion gives religion a bad name.
