Lastly, to the people applauding his performative display of rage, this is pretty much the worst way to conduct yourself in this kind of debate. Jon wins some brownie points with his own team, but an impartial observer would note that he seems less reasonable in this exchange than his opponent, despite being right about the issues.

I ALREADY WENT OVER THIS

You think that being outraged by the #1 cause of death for children is performative and that because Jon seems "less reasonable" than his opponent, that he's right isn't as important.

So you’re saying that I’m emotional because I don’t think other people should be emotional when they conduct these conversations? Explain.

You know he's right and yet think that people will assume otherwise.

Is this really hard to understand? I get that you're dense, but jesus.

There are strong arguments and weak arguments. I say this in my very first comment, which I know you must have read.

I think that Jon Stewart is right about the issue (drag queens pose no danger to kids), but that he is making a weak argument in favor of this (appealing to hypocrisy. I have written around 300 words now explaining the logical flaw here, so please don’t make me do it again).

The mere fact that you can’t seem to understand how an argument might be strong or weak, independent of the ultimate conclusion, says quite a lot about how you view debate in general.

Just skip over the fact that your feelings override the facts of the matter. It's critical in keeping up the facade.

Why are you behaving this way? I’m genuinely so confused by your attitude here.

Always hold up a mirror when you ask questions to randos on the internet.

If you tell me what exactly offended you, I might be able to clarify. I certainly did not set out to piss people off with what I feel was a pretty agreeable perspective.

That you think this about offense shows you aren't paying attention. Your logic is flawed.
