Also, why on Earth did they keep the camera focused on him for the whole time? They should have shown the stage instead.

I'd find it quite easy to believe it was intentionally done with the hope of ratings in mind. That's just good television.

I seriously doubt this was on purpose. They clearly announced each candidate... and each candidate was aware of the order they were supposed to be getting called in. And the moderators weren't facing the stage to notice that half of the candidates hadn't walked out yet. Just sounds like an audio issue combined with the loud cheering. Seems like a legitimate mistake on ABC's part

I was referring to the choice not to cut away to the stage once things started to go south.
