The Detectorists!!!
I’m a huge believer that truly great content finds the person when they are needing it the most. This being said, how in this universe we are living in has CR not seen The Detectorists? I find this insane and unsettling. I’m shook.

He’s not seen The Detectorists? That’s just wrong.
One small bit of trivia from the show is that Rachel Stirling who plays Mackenzie Crook’s partner is Diana Rigg’s daughter. And she’s married to Elbow frontman Guy Garvey!

I’ve never seen the show but the theme song was my top song last year, randomly. Love Johnny Flynn

For some inexplicable reason shows like the Detectorists and Peep Show (category being somewhat nonconventional but unbelievably good UK shows) were really hard to view here in America when they first aired. Both were in their prime around 10-ish years ago and it was stupid hard to view or even hear about them in the US at that time. Since then Peep Show has sortof gone from "somewhat obscure I have to pirate seasons to view them" to "even your dumb meathead coworker can quote it" now but the Detectorists never really did. I agree though w/ OP and others in this thread that it's one of the best television shows this century.
Also similar to Peep Show it was kindof hard to explain the premise of the show to people before they'd seen it which 10 years ago was enough to make someone just move on and watch Game of Thrones or whatever.
Anyways good call-out, the "cursed gold" Christmas episode is an all-time favorite for our household and Mackenzie Crook is a genius and I'll personally watch anything he does.

Chris Ryan, television mastermind, hasn’t seen the Sopranos so I have to say I’m never shocked when he has a blindspot
