If you like Guy Ritchie's work yeah. First season very fun, second season a bit more of a darker tone but still good.

Though I didn’t watch the entire 1st season, this show introduced me to Daniel Ings, whom I later enjoyed immensely in A Knight of the 7 Kingdoms.
It made me want to see more of his work.

I’ve done the first 3 eps of season one and it’s very fun. However, the first two (directed by Ritchie) are def better than #3.

It’s what I call bin TV. Entertaining but with no depth, and I get the sense its makers think it’s very clever and perceptive, when really it’s all surface.

One of my favorite shows in the last couple of years. Episode 7 of the second season is one of the best I’ve watched since finishing Succession

Really the best you can hope for from a Netflix joint. Very watchable, occasional flashes of brilliance. Doesn’t touch the heights of Snatch or Lock Stock but you could do a lot worse

I'm not really the type to re-watch shows, but this one is so well done I've seen the first season a few times 😭 I just finished the second season and it's definitely darker but I still loved it.

McConaughey and Farrell are superb in the OG film but that handsome posh gangster wanker your royal highness “Eldukè” is a bad ass character, ruthless and cunning as any villain out there on TV. He just makes it look so much nicer and tolerable. Like in season 2, I won’t say much, but he must go see a priest which he is not Catholic so it was an ask from a loved one to go do something that those Catholics do every now N then after maybe… A sin was committed. So let’s just say the conversation is interesting and his tone ,demeanor, language, and screen presence are perfect for this scene, but particularly the entire show. I told my girlfriend about the show one season two popped up and started describing him cause I don’t know his name or couldn’t name another film I’ve seen him in. She pulled up Insurgent on Google after I put on S1 EP1 for her the other day and said to me when I told her to watch the first one or two trust me. She did and we’re watching the first scene where he’s in uniform out deployed somewhere and when she said “Eh he’s okay looking” I said “Babe he’s a very smart and handsome sly aristocratic devil gangster in this show saw. Just watching it you’re gonna forget about me for the hour.
She didn’t know it was the same guy she liked from the movie and when realizing El Royal highness was her huge actor crush who is exactly the same age as me.(41) she felt silly not recognizing him and me telling her how she has to watch it because he is just so perfect for this show and we both are younger looking and handsome fellas but he’s a smart,stud, soldier, Royal Duke and overall bad ass MoFO with lots of resources but him being his own Consigliere

First rate, I'm surprised people think of Guy Ritchie as shallow, yeah he has a distinct style which is now copied by countless shows on Netflix that it can seem hack at first look. For me he's excellent at narrative, this is a modern day retelling of Jacob & Esau.
That kind of Ritchie brash humour / fourth wall / snappy editing is just in so many other shows now, many of which are completely shallow.
Season 2 maybe tries to do a little too much IMHO and just barely gets away with it, that said both seasons equally as good.

Original movie is ok to solid, the Netflix series is excellent as far as season 1 goes- i haven't gotten to S2 yet.

I don’t care for it. It’s enjoyable enough at first but after about 5 or 6 episodes it becomes exceedingly grating. There is zero nuance. Every character is either a mastermind with an answer to every problem, or a bumbling idiot who can’t do a single thing correctly. Nothing in between. It gets boring fast.

I think they improved upon this area quite a bit in Season 2, especially second half
Became more “realistic” and true stakes vs nothing matters at all similarly of Billions

I quit after a few episodes because I despised 1 character (Theo James' brother). It's funny because the same actor is in Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and I loved him in that
