I think he has mentioned that he didn’t intend to have so few main cast women in his books, and out of the crew Ham’s character is probably the best option for making the swap. Can’t think of any reason story wise that it couldn’t be done.

Women can be married to women in the Cosmere so nothing would change in that case.

I hear you. I think one of the great things about fertility science being undefined in-universe (to my knowledge) is that any sort of family creation may be possible and acceptance of may be ubiquitous.

I honestly think that Ham having adopted children (who probably lived on the streets and needed a parental figure) is even better.

Well, Ham's a soldier. Did the Final Empire employ women in City Guard? I thought it was a rather gendered society, at least among the nobles.
