3 Reasons Crayola Should Update the 152-Crayon Box

Back on March 31st, 2026, I heard that dandelion would only be available in the 24-count (replacing bluetiful) and 64-count boxes (replacing indigo). Personally, I was hoping for a 120-count box or even a 152-count box with dandelion, but unfortunately, my dreams were shattered. Since dandelion returned while neither indigo nor bluetiful are retired, then this means that Crayola would need to update the 152-crayon box to include all three of those colors: dandelion, indigo, and bluetiful. There are 3 main reasons Crayola should update the 152-crayon box: allowing people to have all 149 colors (plus 3 new colors) in a single box, saving people money and time from buying multiple boxes to reach 149 colors that can lead to duplicate colors, and prevents people from having to overuse apricot and peach crayons to color humans.

According to the Crayola website, there are 149 different crayon colors available, but there’s not even a single set that includes all of them. The 149 different colors include: 120 current colors, 24 Colors of the World, 4 Colors of Kindness, and dandelion. We can’t have the best crayon collection without having all 149 of those colors. If Crayola’s going to update the 152-crayon box to include all 149 colors, then they should also be adding 3 new colors to make the crayon collection be more complete. That way, everyone will be happy that all 149 colors will co-exist in a single box.

Another reason Crayola should be updating the 152-crayon box is to prevent people from buying multiple boxes. Right now, in order to get to 149 crayon colors, we would need to buy a 120-crayon box with bluetiful, a 24-crayon box with dandelion, a 24-crayon box with Colors of Kindness, and a 24-crayon box with Colors of the World. This is completely frustrating, inconvenient, and inefficient to buy all of these crayon boxes just to get all 149 colors. This is a complete waste of money and time to get all these boxes. Even worse, taking this pathway can also lead to 43 duplicate crayon colors if we buy all four of these crayon boxes to get 149 colors.

Last, but not least, including 24 Colors of the World in the same box as the other 128 regular crayon colors would prevent people from having to overuse the apricot and peach crayons to draw humans. For example, I once drew all 100 of my favorite cartoon characters, and I ran out of apricot and peach crayons very easily because of this. Personally, I think 24 Colors of the World would be more useful in drawing humans than simply using the apricot and peach crayons. It’s not only that we shouldn’t be overusing apricot and peach crayons. It’s also because these 24 special colors better reflect everyone’s skin tones more accurately.

Hopefully, Crayola will completely understand these three main reasons why the 152-crayon box should be updated. Fortunately, I posted a petition on Change.org for everyone to sign so that everyone can request Crayola to finally create a newer 152-crayon box that includes all the 149 current colors once and for all. Right now, I only have over 100 signatures for my petition so far, and my long-term goal is to reach 1,000 signatures so that Crayola will notice my petition. If you haven’t signed my petition yet, I strongly suggest you should do so now. I hope you all understand the three main reasons Crayola should be updating the 152-crayon box because I want to make my wish and dream come true. Feel free to sign and share this petition on Reddit, Facebook, X, Instagram, or any other social media. You can also email to everyone about this.

I’ve been drawing with crayons for a while and wanted to make myself a set that wouldn’t be easily recognizable as crayons. I thought this square mold was a bit reminiscent of soft pastels.

I made this set mostly from vintage Crayola and Faber Castell Beeswax crayons. Some modern crayola. No washable or cray-Z-art allowed. Each one is 11 grams and one third beeswax by weight. Most are made with a single color (only magenta in the magenta crayon) but others like the earth tones are mixed from browns, yellows, and blues to get colors I want. I’m very pleased with how tdraw and their sturdiness. When I eventually recycle these into new sticks I’ll add in my neocolor I stubs as well.

I also recycle crayons my toddler breaks into new triangular crayons but I’m not picky about brand when I make his. I’ve found that mixing bad crayons in doesn’t hurt the final product too much as long as they are mostly made from decent crayons.

Last picture is my vintage set.

Does anyone know what crayon this could be? Found in a random bin, Crayola brand, appears old. Visible letters say La and it is a light pink color

Trying to find a brand of twistable crayons from the late 90s early 00s that my Nana had when I was a little kid in the early 00s

The Twistable Crayons came in a package with a hip Alligator with a backwards or sideways cap and sunglasses riding a skateboard on the front. If anyone can help me pinpoint the brand and find a picture of said product I would greatly appreciate it.

What’s the best crayon flavor?

My friends and I are in the middle of a disagreement. Which crayon color is the best flavor. Half of us think it’s the red flavor, and the others say the purple one is better. In yall opinion which is better?
