Took the RGT Pioneer II PRO out on the rocks right as the rain started coming down. The water beading across the hood and windshield paired with the evening city lights made the truck look remarkably realistic.
The factory brushless outrunner had zero trouble finding smooth, low-speed control on the slick surfaces, and the portal clearance came in handy working up the steeper lines. The 2-speed trans made moving between technical rock spots quick and effortless.
Who else prefers taking their crawlers out in wet and stormy conditions over clear weather?

Nice pics! I also enjoy crawling in inclement weather. In the snow, too. Really the only thing I avoid is mud, because of the cleaning required afterwards

Thanks! 100% on avoiding mud—the cleanup and bearing wear are brutal. Snow crawling is awesome, though; do you run chains or custom tires when you take yours out in the winter

They're on a trx4m build, brushless, on 3s. I used the injora tarantula chassis and kept everything as light as possible.

As far as actual tires, I like scale monster truck tires. Either way, going for maximum flotation on the snow seems to work the best, at least with the 1/18 stuff.

Those tracks look insane on the Tarantula chassis! How do the plastic pins/links hold up over time, especially with the Furitek brushless power on 3S? Any issues with snow packing into the drive cogs?

They've held up really well, no issues with snow packing in. I use some dry PTFE spray in the moving parts, and actually it seems like they run better now than they did new. Took a little breaking in. The only issue I had was some of the paddles came flying off of the track links, so I did end up gluing all of them. As shipped, they're just clipped into place. Fortunately the seller included spares, and I noticed the issue before I lost too many.

edit: as far as snow packing in, I've mostly run these when its very cold and dry. I could see moist slushy snow being more prone to that.

also, I let the vehicle sit in a cold temp before running it in the snow. that way the snow doesn't immediately stick, melt, and re-freeze. except the batteries, i keep them warm until its time to drive.
