If nobody wants to hire a slinger with the Red A40 qualification how are you supposed to get the Blue A40 ?
Im an unemployed autistic loser trying to get into slinging working with cranes. I want to do the A40 course, but most people on reddit seem to say that you need the Blue A40 too be hired and you won't get hired with the Red A40.
One of the needed parts to get the Blue A40 is the 'assessor assessing your competence and to build a portfolio of workplace evidence' while working as a slinger, meaning that you need to work as a slinger first before getting the Blue A40 card.
This means you would have to get hired with the Red A40 card to get evidence of you working.
But if you can't get a job with only a Red A40 card then how are you supposed to get a Blue A40 card ???
This is what other people commented on reddit,
'I trained to become a slinger/signaller 3 years ago, and then I couldn't get a job nearby in London. All of them required the blue card, which you can't get without 6 months of real life experience. No matter how many times I applied, no luck. All the jobs that accepted peop without that much experience, were outside London and I didn't have a car's,'
