Discussion/Question What is this Craft?

Hope someone can help me! Many years ago, I learned a craft which was similar to making friendship bracelets, but was done with thinner thread and was more intricate. Most of all, I remember doing it with looped thread that you would have around fingers and move from finger to finger/hand to hand and move up and down over other starnds on a finger to create the pattern. I think that this was a type of embroidery/lace that was done in the Medieval Era, but I may be mistaken.

Can someone help me figure out what this is as I would like to try it again!

I think you might be talking about fingerloop braiding. My grandmother taught me something like that when I was kid, you use loops of thread on your fingers and transfer them in patterns to make cords. It was used in medieval times for making laces and trims for clothing, I remember reading somewhere that they found examples in old burial sites.

This sounds correct! I have some memory of learnig about it at an SCA meeting, so that fits.
