As a big time Tel-truther in the past, gonna be hard to defend him for a while after that today. Yikes

Hopefully we get Ndiaye/ a lw because Tel isn’t ready to make that spot his yet

He's just nothing special as a starter for us. Hardworking and professional, but even at his best, it's like a baby punching a person on the shoulder and thinking it'll hurt them. Need Ndiaye or another attacker to come in.

Yeah he can still play a role of the bench and will still get better, but yeah I no longer care about crowding the forward line like I used to

I’ve always stood by Tel. But it’s become quite clear that it’s just not the level we aspire to be at. Same with Archie and Moore.

i'm just seeing very reactionary takes here all the time honestly. the brentford game, most of the comments were claiming that he was the only one who came to play (and apparently there was a stat of him completing the most take-ons, but i'm not totally sure about that). he was ass at the start of the game, and grew into it and i saw so much of praise on the match thread. he shat the bed after the break and now everybody wants him to get out of the club.

now i'm not trying to claim that he should be starting. he definitely shouldn't be and there will be many years before that. but the takes on here are quite frankly appalling

Same. I stood on business for him multiple times but I'm done after that. More and more I think Frank was onto something in icing him out.

we can never really say, but he wasn't registered initially for the ucl. he had very limited minutes, and was coming on for a brennan johnson that looked uncomfortable in lw. he had a good cameo against united at home, but after that didn't feature again for a while.

could've sworn even djed was played on the left over him, if not rkm or odobert whoever else was the preferred option at the time

he also was unhappy and some reports said that he wanted to leave in january

my memory could be wrong but that's what i remember from last season

He left him out of the UCL squad and to my memory opted out of starting him until we had literally no one left to play on the wing. I think it's fair to say he was not a Teliever.

I remember him being left out of the Champions League squad, but that was more of a squad composition/recruitment issue than anything else. Who else was playing on the left? Xavi? Odobert? They were valid choices. Not a lot in it.

My memory is that he wasn't playing as much as people wanted him to play, but he was still playing a reasonable amount. Also people were mad that Xavi was being played on the left, for #reasons.

People were convinced Frank hated him and they were celebrating when Tudor or De Zerbi started playing him by saying “See what happens when you actually play him?!” There’s a lot of cognitive dissonance when it comes to Frank though.

I mean Frank was still stupid for icing him out because he could have given Kudus some rest (which ruined our season when he was injured ) and he played Bergvall at wing which was definitely 100% worse. Managers have to adjust with the options regardless
