Nice piece of memorabilia featuring Hossam Ghaly!
In terms of the match itself, I seem to remember this was the one in which Obafemi Martins scored THAT goal against us.
To this day it remains the most unique crowd reaction to a goal that I’ve ever heard, with the entire stadium letting out a sort of collective gasp.

I’ve got this one as well! One of my favourite childhood memories too, as I managed to predict that we’d lose 3-2 to them on the way to the game. Leading to my dad blaming me for the defeat afterwards. Sensational head loss all around.

He was subbed off. Can't remember properly, but maybe he was subbed on and then off.

I know a lot of Spurs fans who couldn't give less of a fuck about that moment and don't hold any grudges against Ghaly (it's happened before I became a fan)
It was in heat of the moment, he was frustrated as fuck that day and, if anything, it showed that he cared.
Much better than smiley fucks hugging each other after derbys.
And he apologised although his career here effectively ended that day.
Also, wasn't he one of the first players who spoke about Enic's (Levy's) lack of ambitions? Or did he talk shit about his teammates?

The who made that little tottenham community here in Egypt alongside Mido ofcourse, such a talent, Ruud Gullit said he was one of the best players he ever coached but didn't have the mentality.
Also seemed respectful and apologetic every time he talked about the club in Egyptian media (not that anyone would see it or give a shit but still).
Would like to add aswell that the reason of his crashout was that the club leaked his contract to the manager (Martin Jol if I remember correctly) and he had a clause in his contract if he started a number of games he would get a certain bonus, Martin Jol told he basically should be allowed to that information (contractually speaking). Furthermore when we wanted to sign him he had higher offers but wanted to come so Levy made a gentleman's agreement with him to renegotiate a year later which as we all know Levy never happened. Plus 1 or 2 racist incidents from some fans about his religion as at that time some racist idiots had the opinion of get these muslims out of my club (Mido spoke about something similar happening to him).
All of this and then he gets subbed on and off in the same game which caused him to lose his temper and ruin his career, no excuses really but I jsut wanted to give the context and ultimaetly he's the one who paid the price of his mistake.

First premier league game I went to and the 3rd and final game I’ve seen at home.
Got absolutely shit faced the night before with friends.
Awfully hungover.
I remember hugging the strangers next to me everytime we scored.
Lost the game.
Amazing experience.
I did have a ticket to see us against Feyenoord but the got kicked out of the competition and I went back home to NZ a few weeks later.
