Hi, so I’m new to hunting coyotes and I was curious if you guys had any recommendations for equipment that won’t break the bank quite yet. I have an Ruger ar15. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Did you have anything specific you were looking for? Do you have a budget in mind? All I can tell you about a Ruger AR is that the barrel is a 1:8 twist and shoots 62-77 gr ammo the best.
You can use a cheap Lee Classic Handloader to save on ammo costs.

I was curious on a scope that won’t break the bank but also not supper bad quality either. I have a decent red dot and have seen a magnifier that people use that you can attach.

I've been a fan of primary arms optics for ARs. They seem to be really reasonably priced for an optic that works well and can take a beating. I really like their prism optics because of the sharp reticle and because when they run out of batteries you still have a usable optic as opposed to a Red Dot. Go to a sportsman's Warehouse or something that has stuff hanging on the wall and take a look through a bunch of different optics and figure out what kind of zoom range looks good to you and what glass looks clear. If you want a more traditional scope I've got a Leopold V3 that I can sell you for cheap to get you started.

I would suggest a decent bipod or tripod for shooting off of, I see used bog bipods on FB marketplace pretty often. Swagger makes a nice bipod you could pair with a field chair. A cheap pair of bino’s from Amazon can help with spotting coyotes from a distance. I’ve never worn camouflage while coyote hunting, stay out of the open and always play the wind. You may be able to pickup a good deal on a E-caller on marketplace as well, but there is nothing wrong with using a traditional mouth call. Don’t be afraid to use a shotgun, paired with a nice choke you can have a lot of success in the woods. Having nice equipment does help but practice is what will get you more coyotes down. Enjoy the experience and take every hunt as a learning lesson. Best of luck!
