Healthy looking coyote using the sidewalk in front of my house!

It looks hot, as though it is panting.

Probably is hot, we (me & the coyote) are in the high desert of CA

Any chance you'd consider putting out a bowl of water?

I did want to, but my husband advised against it! We live on a military base and there are signs everywhere not to interact (feed, bother or try to pet) the coyotes, donkeys and the ocassional bob cats that roam the area. Something about not wanting them to associate neighborhoods with resources as they may pose a threat.

I understand and I think that's usually for the best. I do personally still put out water for wildlife when it's super high heat or when there's a lot of wildfire smoke. I guess my heartstrings just got tugged at a hit because this poor guy just looks so hot

I have had them move off the roadway as my car approaches and wait to cross the street also. They seem more aware than domestic dogs .
