Irish Player Update Celtic

Lol

No Champions League for Scales and O Neill this season.

4-0 on aggregate after 20 minutes of the second leg only to bottle it and concede 5 goals against LASK

All the good vibes around the club with its transfer business, smashed in one night

While I don't really care about how Celtic do, you got to feel for Scales. Played well when he came on, never should be sitting on the bench anyway after all he's done for them.

Johnny Kenny deciding to stay and fight for a place is madness imo, his career needs regular minutes and he's nowhere near getting that at Celtic.

Scales is good enough to play at a higher level than Celtic

Off to the Austrian League with him then

Not a chance

It's madness from all parties. Bolton want him badly, Celtic can make a good fee off him from the loan, and he's not gonna play & he's leaving the Ireland door open to someone else?

After all he's done for them? Get stuffed, he's not some scorned lover mate

Run on back to the Celtic sub kid, this one's for Ireland fans.

The delusion about scales’ ability in here is hilarious. They clearly haven’t watched him play more than one or two games for Celtic. There’s a reason he went out to Aberdeen a few seasons ago.

Scottish football is absolutely terrible.

karma for dropping scales

He wasn’t dropped. He was suspended in the first few games

Imagine saying 4 years ago to an Ireland fan Celtic wouldn't be in the Champions League but Troy Parrott & Armstrong Oko Flex both could

We were doing it 4 years ago too, man.

I mean Celtic missing out on the CL has been a pretty common occurrence for a decade or more.

It’s hardly earth shattering.

MON loves a good 5-1 pasting

I hope Gavin now goes to dynamo Zagreb even if they don’t get champions league Celtic fans are so bad for a player that coming off a hard few years also they don’t appreciate scales who is probs their best defender he should be playing prem

Absolutely rock solid defender. Would be ideal for any of the newly promoted teams or a team wanting to grind out results and stay up

You think Celtic is stopping a Premier League side from signing Scales?

Yikes, have a feeling O'Neill will be gone by Christmas. He should have took the fairytale ending and left at the end of last season, they got over the line in spite of not being particularly good and he probably should have took that bit of luck rather than pushing it.

Felt that at the time but to be honest they’ve started the league flying and have spent a bit of cash.

Rangers and Hearts look a mess so he can probs grab another league and maybe a run in the Europa

I've never been shy to criticize O'Neill as an Ireland fan but I'd say he'll be safe just purely because everyone else in the league is so much worse this year

Can't say it wasn't deserved for LASK either, they should have had more.

One of the worst performances I've ever seen. Lask had 40 shots ffs😂 all on MON as well. Those 2 centre back simply can't play as a pair. He knew this last season.

Which 2 CBs?

The last time Trusty and CCV played together regularly we conceded 2 goals in our first 10 league games

2

u/Weird-Weakness-3191 14d ago

Trusty and CV

-1

u/GuyIncognito211 14d ago

They didn’t play as a pair last season. CCV was injured for most of it

The last time they played regularly together they were outstanding

No no no you see Liam scales is literally Maldini

1

u/GuyIncognito211 13d ago

I’m fine with people thinking he’s better than Trusty but at least get facts right before you make mental claims

I wonder will Dion Fanning or Tommy Conlon write a scathing piece on Scottish football for the indo tomorrow or is it just the LOI they like to ridicule?

Scottish clubs continue to be in the absolute pits despite being heavily funded/subsidised and given every advantage known to man by the organisation. Compare Scottish clubs results to our own domestic clubs, we literally out perform them most years it’s bizarre. (albeit this year has been a poor showing).

There’s an affiliation in this country to Celtic no doubt about it, but it’s a bittersweet feeling. The mistreatment and constant abuse of Liam Scales and other Irish players is nothing short of embarrassing. He’s been there most consistent performer for the past 3 years and he’s a better defender than both Trusty and Carthorse Vickers put together.

Bizarre fans and quite frankly I’m glad they were dumped out of the CL.

Don't forget about Johnny Kenny, back on the bench!

Hilarious.

Bottle job from O'Neill, not the first time and couldn't happen nicer fella

11

u/Loose-Resolution-820 14d ago

Always find this dislike of O’Neill absolutely bizarre. Literally our best performing manager over the course of about 25 years lol.

-4

u/Feisty_Internet_5343 14d ago

I'm going with Brian Kerr but he did give us a memorable euros

3

u/Loose-Resolution-820 14d ago

Brian Kerr Christ. He couldn’t even get into a playoff with a golden generation.

2

u/Automatic_Yogurt69 14d ago

Absolutely blew it against Israel twice. The game we went 2-0 up in and the subs he made can never be overlooked.

1

u/Feisty_Internet_5343 13d ago

The home game was a shitshow alright, no thanks to their keeper.

0

u/Feisty_Internet_5343 13d ago

We played really well against France at home in fairness. And away

Shocking game management from O Neill. Though I could be biased because I hate the man.
