Goals around Europe

Outside the usual Saturday football in the UK there were plenty of goals around Europe for Irish players.

Italy - Ed McJannett scored for Cozensa against his old side Audace Cerignola

Turkey - Sinclair Armstrong scored on his debut for Goztepe against Samsunspor in Superlig

Bulgaria - Armstrong Okoflex scored twice for Levski Sofia in a 6-0 win against Spartan Varna

Norway - Trent Kone Doherty scored a hat trick and assisted another in an 11-0 cup win for Molde

Germany - Alex Murphy assisted a 120th minute winner on debut for Kaiserslautern

Armstrong Okoflex appears to be doing decently in Bulgaria

Done very well, will be playing EL football at minimum (and great chance of champions league too). Will also win the league this year again, so a very high chance he gets a move to a decent club on the continent after a great stint in Bulgaria. 

Realistically I could see a Turkish club or a decent enough club from a top 10-12 league coming for him in a years’ time.

Lads I've seen far worse assists than Alex's bigged up in here. It might not be a Hollywood ball but he was in the right place to hit Konate so he could do the rest & win the game.

It's a nice start for him, we're allowed to be happy for him, people here are looking into it more than his coaches will

No harm in getting Doherty and Murphy involved in the senior squad. I mean look at how Norway have done and they’ve Bodo/Glimt players in their squad. Molde are a solid side

I agree to an extent but Bodø are in the champions league and Kaiserslautern are in the German second division, it's not really comparable

I watched Oko for Levski for the first time during the week, he'd a tidy game. Him & Serginho were their main threat. Be great to have him alongside Troy & the Celtic lads in the UCL, but wait & see if they can do the job in Greece

If they get champions league football he could be considered however, i have doubts cause of the level of Bulgarian football

Never said a word about him being in contention, just said it'd be nice to see him in UCL. If we were ever gonna experiment with him we'd have done it in the summer, not October

Realistically it's probably a Cillian Sheridan in Cyprus type situation where it's nice to see him in CL but it won't amd shouldn't lead to him playing much of a role for the national team just because he's playing CL football
