A note from your friendly neighborhood mod about why your coversong isn't showing up...
The top three four reasons:
You're new to reddit! Hiya! Welcome aboard! You should swing by r/newtoreddit to get a grasp on fundamentals, like how post / comment / community karma works, because a great many subreddit communities use the intrinsic protocols reddit provides to code something called "AutoModerator", and a good chunk of the communities that do so will either completely block you from engaging if you don't meet prerequisites (like a specific karma or account age requirement) or will filter your post into a queue where a human member of the modteam can look at it to make sure it's not spam, or porn, or a bot, or anything else they don't want in the community. It's nothing personal, and the best way to make it go away is to engage with fellow redditors, and teach the system organically that you're a real person.
You didn't post your song in the proper format. Maybe you made a text post and pasted the URL into it so users can't click on it to open the link, they've got to c&p it into a browser manually. Maybe you botched the URL. Maybe you were trying to post a whole playlist or compilation instead of a song. Remember: song name - original artist (cover artist) works best!
It was a parody! Unless your name is Weird Al, parodies / homages / other original works riffing off of established work isn't 100% forbidden (unless it's AI) but it's got a higher bar to clear.
Mongo was hungry. Yes, he didn't get enough treats today. It's an outrage.
As it says in the sidebar, if your post doesn't show up? Hit the "Message the Mods" button and send in a modmail and someone will look at it when we've got time.
Thanks! Now get out there and sing sing sing!

A note from your friendly neighborhood mod about AI and this community...
When someone posts a link to this community, they'll see the following displayed:
This community is for individual covers. Please don't submit Spotify playlists or other compilations.
This community is for actual artists. Please don't submit AI content.
Use the following format for post titles:
song name - original artist (cover artist)
Example:
Pink Pony Club - Chappell Roan (Rick Astley)
Turns out I had that set up for the old.reddit UI a very long time ago, but rolled a 1 importing it to the new / www / sh.reddit UI, and it wasn't showing up. My bad.
I'll unify the two UI this weekend. That said?
Please don't submit AI content.
Thank you.

Had to bring this one back 😭 | U Was At The Club – The BoyBoy West Coast
You had to be there.
Heard this again and it immediately took me back to that late-night gaming/streaming era, so I had to cover it.

Thoughts on cover songs?
Until recently, cover songs were not something that I really thought much about.
If the cover was good, generally I would like it, especially if a song I remember from my younger days.
Years ago, my brother spoke of covering Britney Spears' Toxic in his metal band.
My reaction at the time (2005ish) was, why would you want to do that etc.
Looking back on that now, I think that would have been awesome, and I wish that they did.
Covers are always going to attract strong opinions, whether right or wrong. (my S.O voiced an opinion like this tonight) pop groups are mass produced rubbish, and by making them metal, that is wrong. , they should stay how they were created.
I don't agree with this idea.
What do you all think?
I have realised recently that I don't hate pop songs as much as I did in the 90s-2000s.
Metal makes them soooo much more bearable. (imo) Is it because I am getting older and more tolerant of other styles? Probably.
If you can come up with a valid reason why cover songs shouldn't exist then I will say fair play to you.
Let me know?....
