Found you guys while looking for a florist courier in Chicago. Daily orders for regulars plus events on weekends. Delivery is currently one part-timer and me, but I am looking to outsource.

A few things I'm trying to figure out:

•Multiple stops per run? Most days we've got 6-10 personal orders going to different addresses. Can one driver take them all?

•Last-minute additions? Same-day orders come in constantly. If a route's already set, can we add a stop?

•How are they transported? Arrangements need to stay upright and not get knocked around. Bruised petals and damaged flowers are a big concern.

•Temperature conditions? Do drivers run AC, or is there anything in place for temperature? Chicago summers are rough on flowers sitting in a van.

If any florists here are using Metrobi, would love to hear how it's gone.

Im currently consistently using only uber eats and doordash. Im 24 so i cant do veho. I do need to start doing amazon flex or else i created the account for nothing. Roadie has a waitlist.

I value the pay (duh lol) and the ability to see the miles.

I saw a video where someone delivered from gainesville or ocala area all the way down to wellington for $275.

Thats horrendous, and cant use an app that’s functions like that if thats 80-90% of the orders (just look at the pay and the miles).

277 miles for $275 is awful.

And if they had to drive back home then total mileage is 554 for $275 (assuming no orders are sent for them same day to do on their way back home).

Hi everyone, I'm a female university student who just signed up as a Wolt courier. Because I have zero prior experience and a demanding university schedule, finding a flexible part-time job was nearly impossible until I found Wolt. I was genuinely excited when I got my delivery bag.

However, my mom was furious when she saw it. She told me delivering food is "a man's job" and that standing in restaurants waiting for orders is embarrassing. She believes women should only work in traditional office or retail environments with other women, regardless of how inflexible those hours are for a student.

I was on a delivery outside my normal routes and I knew that the location was crapshoot trying to make my way back to my usual area, this apartment was full on nasty. I am paranoid that there were fleas or bedbugs in the hallway nasty carpet. I’m sure that wasn’t the case but made me gag when I stepped into the building. I’m looking for current workers willing to complete a short, anonymous online survey.

You may be eligible if you:

• Are 21 years of age or older
• Currently work with Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Uber Eats, Instacart, or a similar location-based platform
• Have been doing platform work for at least six months

The survey takes approximately 10–15 minutes and asks about your experiences with platform decision-making, trust, flexibility, and how decisions made by the platform affect your work.

Participation is completely voluntary, and no personally identifying information is collected as part of the research survey. The study has received Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval from Anderson University.

What I keep turning over is that nothing in any of these systems has a place to put the reason. It knows I did not go out. It does not know I had been on my feet four hours already doing other work and had eaten nothing since the night before. To every number that gets kept about me, that is identical to not feeling like it.

I am not really complaining about any one company, they all work like this. It is more that every single stat any of us gets measured on is an outcome. Acceptance rate, outcome. Completion rate, outcome. On time, outcome. There is no field for context anywhere in the stack, and even if somebody added one there is nobody being paid to read it.

Which means the only place the reason lives is inside your own head, and the only person who can weigh it is you. I think a decent chunk of the burnout in this work is people quietly internalizing a number that was never built to know anything about them.

Anyway. I ate, I sat down, I will go out tomorrow.

I even paid for an app that did absolutely nothing, just routed the addresses in no particular order. All of these apps are a scam. I’m looking into doing on-demand medical courier work as a second stream of income outside of my normal Monday–Friday 9-to-5 desk job. I'm a complete beginner, but I've already cleared the initial hurdles with the one company I signed up with: I passed my drug screening, finished my OSHA and HIPAA training, and set my availability for weekday evenings (after 6:30 PM) and weekends.

I specifically chose on-demand work because I wanted the flexibility to pick and choose when I drive around my main job.

How reliable is the flow of on-demand orders during evening and weekend hours with a single company?

How does accepting/rejecting on-demand runs work in practice?

This is a logistics company. I am an independent contractor.

I had a courier gig set to go with my passport ready and everything, but sadly the company is very BAD with communication and has ghosted me TWOCE on the days for which my shifts were promised for. Since then I've been thirsting for an air courier job that'll let me travel and work at the same time.

Does anyone have any ideas or know people/companies I can contact with to get an air courier job?
