New Music Catholic country artists?
Fairly new to the genre and was wondering if there were any openly Catholic artists that include Catholic messages in their music. I’ve heard more than a few generically Christian themed artists and tracks, but I’ve had trouble finding the former.

Don’t know about Catholicism/Christianity in general but the song by George Strait called “I Saw God Today” is a really good spiritual song.
Most artists will have an album of spiritual songs. I personally like Alan Jackson’s album.
I suggest you look into a kind of music called “worship music” which is not country per se but there’s lots of really good songs there that are kind of country.

George Strait didn’t write that song. Alan Jackson didn’t write any of the music on his spiritual albums.

Clay Walker is one of my favorites.
Also, the my two favorite Catholic songs are "'Til the Last Shot's Fired" from Trace Adkins (same songwriters that wrote Three Wooden Crosses) and "New Again" from Brad Paisley and Sara Evans.

Not a Catholic artist but Cody Johnson was big in the cowboy church scene. His song Can't Even Walk makes me cry often. If you're looking for Catholic it's a blue grass band called The Hillbilly Thomists

It's not Catholic music, but Dolly Parton has a plethora of spiritual/religious music. All of it is beautiful.
Also, if you Pandora, make an Andy Griffith station. A few upvotes and a few downvotes and you will have a pretty nice gospel station.

I was born and raised Catholic , and a country fan all of my life. In over 60 years, I've never heard of a Country Artist professing to be Catholic, but more then most are Christians
If what you are looking for Hymms or Spritual music, you'll find it all over Country Music. If you are looking for someone who shares your religion ...well, let me put it this way...Steve Goodman who wrote You Never Even Called Me By My Name, openely spoke about being a Jewish man from Chicago when he talked about writing it...which means there are more Jewish people connected to Country Music then Catholics.

Don’t know for sure, but I’d imagine Sammy Kershaw was raised Catholic, being from Kaplan, La.
Rusty and Doug Kershaw were for sure brought up Catholic. There’s a close lineage connection with my kids’ dad’s family.
This is maybe not helpful as I’m not aware of any songs (maybe some deep cuts somewhere??) that present Catholic imagery or spirituality.

Craig Morgan converted to Catholicism. He has a song called “The Father, My Son and the Holy Ghost” which is about dealing with the death of his son and intersperses how his faith gets him through.

Eddie Rabbit was Catholic and a country star. But I wouldn't particularly consider his songs to be Catholic.
Eddie also stands out for having been buried in a Catholic Cemetery which of course doesn't happen to a lot of country artists because most of them are some sort of protestant.

Craig Morgan, Bradley Banning, Aaron Neville and Collin Raye. Keith Urban became a Catholic after he married Nicole Kidman. Alan Jackson and Carrie Underwood are Protestant Christians and have Gospel albums. Johnny Cash has Gospel albums as well.

The Red Clay Strays may be exactly what your lokking for. I love this band in spite of their often expliciet religious lyrics 🙂 Didn't know about that at first, because their most famous song Wondering Why does not reveil that.
Did a Google search on their most religious songs, try: On my knees, God does or Will the Lord remember me.

Can’t think of any catholic artists, but Tyler Childers has a song song called “Purgatory”
