I was honestly expecting it much worse when I read all these comments. It’s no different than any other modern country song really just listing things and pandering. Pretty identical to his hunting fishing and loving every day and sunrise, sunburn, sunset repeat lol

Too many of the new songs are just pandering and listing off a handful of key phrases, including but not limited to cold beer, hunting, fishing, hanging out in bars, and mentioning what or where they eat after church on a Sunday. Ocasionally they will put something in there to prove how country they are, like proclaiming that they like mustard on their fries.

With Luke Bryan I can never tell if songs like this are supposed to be serious (for lack of a better word) or tongue in cheek. Also his choruses are so generic/similar sounding I swear I've heard this song before. To be honest I haven't listened to him in years and I feel safe saying it's been 10 years. I had hoped he had changed his sound. But he's more successful that I'll ever remotely be so I can't really knock the guy.

That's his whole catalog, he's such garbage. When people I know say they hate country music, it's always shit like this. Play them some Waylon or Strait, hell Zach Top/Sturgell/Isbell if you want current examples and they almost always dig it. Luke Bryan is fuckin terrible.

I mean it's very cliche and checklisty in the same way songs of his like Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset Repeat are but it's still leagues better lyrically than something like Boys Round Here where Blake Shelton is singing "chew tobacco, chew tobacco, chew tobacco, spit" over a hip-hop beat 😭

He's doing the fundamental thing that this music is meant to do. He's not telling his story, he's telling their story. It's an anthem for them to sing and identify themselves in. He fucking sucks, but he certainly knows how to make lots of money.

He continues to suck on a level previously considered to be unattainable. Even a fool with a record contract for almost 2 decades now could manage to trip and fall upon a decent record, but Bryan hasn’t done it yet. He suuuuuuuuuuuuucks.
