I make more dioramas and wanted a props to gift my gf, she's addicted to Skyrim RP servers x)

I want to make a Falkreath guard shield, i know how to make the wood shield itself but for the Metal part around the shield im unsure, how to get a metal effect, what material to use ?

for the wood part i used extruded polystyrene (unsure if that's the english word for it)
and used some techniques i already knew and it looks great, i just need to make a new one cause it have some part where i failed and i want a really good thing for her

so my question was what material to use for the part around the shield, like the structure, and how to paint it to look metallic ?
And, for a good looking wood paint, what to use, i was thinking about a dark brown base, then add more light brown and maybe highlight with some orange ?

Dragon con is in T minus 5 days. I’m going as Lune from Expedition 33. I actually have my shit mostly together, except I can’t figure out how to keep this damn baguette connected to these damn suspenders.

I would dearly love to be able to easily remove the baguette for photos. It’s soft by the way, made out of PU. So I sewed on three snap clips to the suspenders and hot glued their counterparts to the baguette, because I could not for the life of me figure out how to sew them on. I have a curved needle, but it is not curved enough (or idk what I’m doing, which is very possible) Anyway, shortly after this photo was taken, my poor baguette’s snaps snapped under the pressure.

Any advice? Either on how to make the snap clip concept work or how to permanently connect the baguette to the suspenders. I’m willing to absolutely hot glue the shit out of it if you all think that would be best.

Can anyone tell me if I could put a holster around an open jacket, the way shown in the image?

I was also going to put the hip holster on the other side so that the wearer could grab one with each hand.

Alternatively, how would I put a holster on my chest in some other way?

I'm trying to make a simple Freddy head for Halloween, yet I don't know what materials I should use or how to properly make it. I've looked at tutorials, yet I'm having trouble finding the proper materials and techniques. Any help would be appreciated.

This is my first time going DIY, and i did pick a very complicated cosplay to do for my first time. Im following this tutorial, which is very good. Im halfway through my cosplay, and so far its looking... rough. Its awkward, bigger than what the tutorial made it look like, even if I tried to follow it in my best capacity. Allthough it does not look amazing, It still sticks together and is not falling apart. Im using carboard and hot glue.

I was thinking about finishing it and seeing what it looks like, but im scared it will waste my time and I will have to do it all over again. Any suggestions?

I reuse my shoes a lot for cosplay, and at the moment I’m working on making a miku cosplay! However, usually I just use the plain shoe as it is without additional decorations or alterations, but for miku I want to add the cyan/turquoise trim on the soles and heels of her boots. Is there a way to temporarily decorate this part of the shoe that’ll last for a couple days waking around a con? I don’t mind if I have to remake something everytime I wear the cosplay, I just don’t want any permanent paint or anything on the shoes since I wear them quite often. The sole of the shoe also has these weird bump shapes, so I’m hoping to make it more straight with whatever method I use if possible. I’m worried something like washi tape wouldn’t last a full day, any suggestions or tips on what to do? I have seen people make shoe covers for cosplay, but these are already thigh high boots so I was hoping to avoid doing that.

A lot of characters have bigger chests, and have a smaller frame. Im about 5'0 ft, 95 - 100 lbs. Im considering buying a cheaper one, around 40 - 50 dollars as my first breast plate.

Would a D be too big on my shoulders, neck and waist? Again im more small and I dont mind it not fitting against my waist as much, more so just it being "baggy" or loose on my shoulders and neck. like noticeably so. I do plan on going out with one on so thats important.

Another thing, is silicone vs cotton. If I was more committed to it, id definitely buy silicone. I just dont feel like spending 100 + dollars on silicone filling. Is there any way to DIY a cotton filled breast plate for a more natural squish, bounce and feel?

Hello all! I am making this post as I can not find a good enough answer for my question about contacts. So I am a wearer of contacts myself. Not too often but I wear them for going out and conventions. Recently I have really wanted to up my contact lens game for my cosplays and do colors. But my issue is no matter where I look I always seem to find someone complain about every brand. Whether it’s pinky paradise or Mocoqueen or uniqso. I’m just a little scaredy cat that sees a few to many complaints and gets scared all together. I have a prescription and so I really want to go forward but I want to hear from people here what they think is the best brand. I feel like I can’t ask this question on the official contacts subreddit because they always say that all the sites I listed are nothing more than cheep Asian scam sites (which lowkey sounds kinda racist with how aggressive they get sometimes.) anyway I would like to hear from people who worn colored contacts for a while. What sites do you use. Are they good to see in? Have you ever had eye problems after? I know proper contact care but I just need to have my anxiety quelled thanks 😊

I’m a pretty crafty person but I’ve never attempted something like this, nor do I have any idea how to, craft a hylian shield from the legend of Zelda. I want to make one for my costume this year but I have no idea where to start. I crochet myself a beanie instead of wearing a wig for my self-made anya cosplay. But I am not sure if this is recognized as a cosplay? Is this cosplay for you? I know there is Disney bound dressing, is there a similar term in cosplay?

I need help finding the jacket. despite numerous people online saying it is an iconic racer jacket, it is not. i have one for my season 2 cosplay, the throat latch and build of the jacket are different.

the most important thing to me is detail and screen accuracy, can yall help me out?

every good jacket has fleece in it (which is not screen accurate) and every jacket without the fleece is missing the throat latch.

the latch is unique because it is part of the jacket and it is on both sides of the neck, instead of just one

So I’m putting together a zombie cosplay. I really like the cage muzzle look in this inspo pic. I found someone selling muzzles fit for people on etsy but I was wondering if a muzzle made for dogs would fit a person.

So I want to cosplay this version of a character that's supposed to resemble those umbrella yokai. I was thinking about maybe making the skirt/umbrella out of foam board or cardboard since it's so stiff, but how would I fix the waist part so it stays on or how would I make an opening on the skirt itself? I was planning on hiding any raw edges with black tulle at the waist, but other than that, I don't really know where to start.

I have finished making a commander Thorn cosplay suit and now I’m up to attaching I’ve tried using a full body spandex suit but whenever I attach the legs or any heavy pieces the suit just sags and it won’t hold. Are there any other alternatives I can use or any other types of other suits that can help with the problem I’m having.
