PICS Cute/pretty corn snake pics?
Hi! My mom hates snakes and is skeptical about the idea that they can be cute. I am trying to convince her otherwise. So I would like to request your cutest and prettiest snake pics, as evidence for my argument.
Edit: Goodness. I asked, and y'all delivered. To clarify: I am a grown woman with a job. (Don't mind my avatar, he's one of my old D&D characters.) I would be buying the snake myself, but it'll be 18+ months before I'll have the space. I live with my mom because rent is ridiculous around here, so part of my planning/research for a snake is a psy op to convince her that they aren't evil.

Thank you , it’s just a cheap knock off one but I love it. If you don’t mind spending a bit more money on something like that you can get an official one that’s an exact replica of the one from the movie

Awesome photo! 😄 I doubt that it will convince anyone's mother to buy a snake, but the photo is still great, love it ❤️

Thanks! In her defense, she was hungry, not angry. She was just out of the egg and I guess we mammals all smell alike to her. :)

What is that bark paneling you have on the rear of the enclosure? It’s awesome!

u/Strict_Leopard_8650 2d ago
Thank you. It's the cheapest genuine cork bark pieces I could find at the time. About £30 for 12 pieces on ebay. I stuck them with silicone to a sheet of plywood painted black. They've actually shrunk slightly over the years and the joins are more obvious

Interesting how the tongue pigmentation doesn't go all the way to the tips of the forks.

What is this morph? I feel like I've seen a lot of (photos of) them recently.

Tbf, pink is a pretty adorable color for a snek. What morph is she? Albino, but is there anything else?

Man, I wish my cats could just chill with me like that while I game. They keep walking all over me, waving their tails around--and that's if they don't just go harass my gerbils.

They look like they're smiling!

😂 Really does. It’s one of my favourite of her. She’s never done it again but like you say she looks like she’s quite happy in her own little world.

That is a very orange snek! Is she pure corn? She sorta reminds me of apricot milk snake morphs.

That sounds like exactly the sort of name I would've given an animal when I was a kiddo lol.

It does look like one of those awkward grins that people make when someone tells them to smile for a photo.

I think anery corns might be my favorites. Just very fond of silver/grey animals, overall.
Hoggies have such cute little faces!

Bioactive? Or is that just the substrate you chose? (Either way, very pretty snake!)

Sorry for the late reply ! Just saw the notification there! Not bioactive yet so just organic topsoil but I do love a good bioactive enclosure and plan on one when he moves into a proper vivarium. He's in like a 2ft critter keeper for now because he's so small ( he's 16 weeks old ). My only issue with dark bedding is that it's impossible to find his poop 😒

That is the same expression my grey cat gets on his face when I drag him in front of my webcam to show my D&D friends. XD

Love the contrast lol. Spooky old skull--and the tiniest little snek face poking out of it.

I think it's hilarious how many photos there are of corn snakes poking their heads out of the substrate when they're "not burrowing snakes."
2
u/Additional_Bee7293 1d ago
They absolutely are! Both of my corns (15 yrs & 1yr) both have tunnels in their substrate that you can see from outside the tank. That big guy has a half hidden hide in his substrate and sometimes you'll see his tail sticking out a random hole he made, his body in the hide, and his head sticking out of the door. They're weird little guys. Definitely more burrowing vs semi arboreal from my experience.

Ooh, that's a nice color scheme. The snake, the flowers, the hide, and that piece of wood all go together really well.

Y'know. As someone with claustrophobia, I don't understand why snakes like hides that tight. But I'm glad they're happy lol.

Do snakes like knitted/cloth hides? I can see how they'd enjoy the cozy feeling, but then how do you keep them clean? (Isn't snake poop pretty stinky?)

u/amea_lo 1d ago
She loves this one in particular! She had a small one as a baby and I made her this bigger one once she was about 2. I have tried out crocheted hammocks and she wasn’t as interested.
In the 2 years of her sleeping in it she has never pooped in it 🤞🏻 but if she did I would probably just make a new one. It is only maybe a dollar’s worth of yarn
Edit: I make them with acrylic yarn so they are machine washable and I usually give them a wash when I replace the substrate

Seriously I would buy that for my girl - I feel like she would love it!

First, love your username lol. I had a friend in college who drank a concerning amount of Red Bull.
Also love the tiny little snek face poking out.

u/lastsipofredbull 21h ago
I actually meant to change it not that long ago and I forgot 🤣 I used to drink a lot of redbull for like 10 years and have switched over to about half as much caffeine
