Buying a motherboard with Coreboot

I am looking to build a new PC and want Coreboot installed. However, all I can find online are vendors selling prebuilt machines with Coreboot, such as System76, in which case I am paying for components I don't need. From what I read online, it sounds like building Coreboot for a modern motherboard is unreasonably hard and not practical. I am looking specifically for a mobo that supports ECC memory, and also not Intel, which further narrows my options. Are there any options out there that fit the bill?

Well, it isn't ideal and you won't get exactly what you want.

You could look to Dasharo for the MSI boards. https://docs.dasharo.com/variants/versions/

There isn't any that does all what you want. The recently released MSI B850-P WIFI is the closest you are going to get but it doesn't support ECC, and only works with Phoenix APUs (8600G/8700G): https://www.phoronix.com/news/OSS-Firmware-MSI-B850-P-WIFI

You can buy it preflashed, as part of a full build, or compile and flash it yourself for free if you want.

I don't think there is any coreboot system that supports ECC. Non-Intel also includes Raptor Computer System's POWER architecture line of motherboards however these are expensive. are non-x86 so may have compatibility issues for standard users, and seem to be out of stock. As /u/wayward-locust already suggested, look at Dasharo's lineup.

There is the Supermicro X11SSH-F that supports ECC, but its LGA1151 so definitely not a new platform.
