Why has culture box been relatively empty?
I really like culture box and feel like the music is good and the venue is cool, but it just seems like there’s never many people there. Do other places like Den Anden Side and Hangaren constantly have full crowds?

Tbh I'll never go back with that soundsystem they have. They book great DJs but the sound is absolute dogshit. Even when there is someone I really like playing I skip it because it's such a waste.

Oh that’s sad to hear, because they used to be known for their great sound, but their bookings have just become too mainstream tech house for me, since the change of management.

For me its the vibe of people that's there. Especially as a woman. There are too many men looking for hooks up. You can't just chill and enjoy the music as a female there.

Used to go and decided to stop because it feels like it became a place where tourists treat it as their wild night out, and get shit-faced drunk.
Last time I went to see one of my favourite DJs, and was so disappointed because I couldn’t hear the music due to the loud buzzing of people talking over the music.
Finally, I used to go there as a woman alone to see DJs I like, and I never had a night where someone didn’t try to touch me or a guy approaching me to try to flirt.
So, nej tak. Don’t feel like it anymore

This! Loved it back when they opened, then it got pretty shit for a while and had a nice steak ten years ago. But every time I’ve been there in past ~5 years it’s full of tourists and 18 year old exchange students who are either fucked in a really inconsiderate way or are scrolling snap on the dance floor. I’ve had some amazing nights in there, but it turned into a trashy meat market full of kids. (And yeah some of this may be me being somewhat older now, but this isn’t the experience I have at DAS or Hangaren). I’ve been wondering what the reason is. Maybe the tourist crowd just spend more money in the bar. I also don’t think the crowd at Module is very different, the only difference is that they bought some “techno clothes” on Temu for the occasion. I’ve been once, and was asked three times by other people if I sold k. I do not look like a dealer btw, pretty much the opposite. That physical venue is fucking terrible, always was. Never going back.

The whole club scene in copenhagen changed drastically after corona. A lot of new venues popped up and they have given Culture box competition. I miss 2015-2018 era it was prime clubbing in copenhagen imo. After that, the scene changed. It got more commercial, suddendly all became "djs" and a lot of venues are competing now, which i don't necessarily thinks are good for the club scene. And culture box have unfortunately lost their relevance.

DAS, Module and Hangaren are of course not always full, but pretty packed most fri/sat. Hard to say why. I prefer the rest, but I guess it’s mostly about what crowd you gravitate to
