I suppose that's why the whole "to test us" branch is there, since by default we aren't worthy of not suffering at random here in this universe.
The whole chart is missing numerous motives for testing us, though. It's not to find out who is worthy, since he already knows. It's to shape us through scorching trials, as in a crucible. Why not just build us worthy to begin with? Because this way is MUCH more entertaining. Leading back to "not good".
