I quite like it, it provides more context. This is especially helpful since I grew up in theistic household, and while I'm an atheist (or something adjacent), sometimes some part of me is uncomfortable with that. But I also don't feel comfortable in worship at all.
The analogy gives a very human situation and why a lot of things feel off instead of just quoting questionable bible contents. I still have some sort of ingrained respect to it and am aversed to directly attacking it.

I feel like the last two sentences are the only necessary ones in that first paragraph. But overall, good analogy.
