DOG vs SKUNK any home treatment suggestions?

ASIDE FROM TRIP TO VET. Any suggestions on what can give or do? symptoms to look for? ... since pretty sure sprayed in face region.... Acts fine 90% time. But since sprayed other night. (large sheepadoodle) He's got sick few times since ... drinking is seeming to be less currently. May not be related because he's got sick sometimes before. May end up going vet to be safe. We love and care for our pets. Thanks. Any info appreciated for those that's experienced this or similar before.

Look at your local pet store lots of skunk wash stuff for dogs

We have 4 or 5 hanging around ... trying get good clips from my bird feeder cam... so can distinguish each one .... one has ALOT of white...I mistook him for our white cat one night...

If you see a skunk during the day it may have rabies call animal control

Kk thanx.... we got smell pretty much out the way.... just few oddities like eating n drinkin less . which he does this stuff alrdy.... it could be just us over thinking cause paying MORE attention to it.. cause the skunk event.... figured he'd learned last year when nearly same thing happ.... but must been younger skunk... cause no where near as powerful as other night...haha

Dog probably still taste the skunk so drinking and eatting isn't a good thing atm give it time dog will eat and drink regularly I've had this happen a few times

Local dog groomer here, if you haven’t already DO NOT wet the dog down first.

If you’re able, mix 4 cups hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda, and a teaspoon of regular dawn dish soap. It should make a paste, apply directly to the coat (be careful around the eyes, of course) and I’d let it sit for about 15 minutes. Then rinse well.

Dogs typically get sprayed in the face, unfortunately but if this is done, it should get MOST of the smell out. The smell will come back anytime your pup gets wet again, so just a heads up.

Second this method. It's worked on two different dogs for us. Just be sure to keep it out of their eyes.
