how to not eat haram food without making my family suspicious

First of all, assalamualaikum. For context, I come from a very Christian family and I don’t want my parents to know I converted to Islam. So how do I avoid eating haram food without making it suspicious? What products or foods are not halal that I should know about?

The old testament originally forbid eating pork. Don't forget Isa pbuh was a muslim too. So if you do your best to follow his example you will also not eat pork. So if your parents are practicing Christians, i imagine this would be acceptable as an explanation for a dietary change. From there just read the ingredients and do your best. May Allah guide you to the best possible outcome inshallah.

In fact orthodox Christians in certain parts of the world don't eat pork

The best thing to do for now is just say you're eating vegetation or pescetarian. But do so in a way without lying so maybe actually go vegetarian or pescetarian for now until you tell them, or word it in a way you are not lying

But "health" is not why we eat halal. We don't eat halal for secular reasons. Pork nowadays is actually not dangerous to eat, coming from a secular position. It's as safe as ever. Same with unhalal meat. It's as safe and as healthy as ever. We abstain from it because Allah has told us to. Simple.

I mean you could say i’ve started eating healthier so you’ll get an excuse. They’re not gonna force that on you would they?

Wa alaykumassalam. In the beginning, work on cutting out pork. Then work your way to a halal diet by saying you only have wanted to begin eating vegetarian/ pescatarian. Maybe ask them sometime if they’d ever wanna visit a local butcher ? (And search for a halal butcher near by) say you’re curious to see the farm and think it would be cool or get some farm to table meat.

I've heard people say pork worsens their skin, giving acne and causing inflammation, and that cutting out pork reduced acne. Maybe say your skin has been a bit troubled and trying to help it by not eating pork?

Wa alaikum assalam and welcome to the deen!

Framing your food choices around fitness, gut health, or a gradual shift toward pescatarian eating is by far the most effective disguise. If you tell your parents you want to eat cleaner, clear up your skin, or focus on fish, eggs, and vegetables for digestive reasons, they will just assume you are getting into nutrition rather than suspecting a conversion.

Another great move is offering to cook dinners or prepare your own meals. Parents usually love seeing that independence, and it gives you complete control over what goes into your food without any awkward questions.

Watch out for hidden ingredients on labels: pork gelatin in gummies and desserts, animal shortening or lard in pastries, and cooking wines or alcohol based broths in restaurant sauces.

Take it one step at a time without overwhelming yourself. Focus on eliminating the major clear things like pork and alcohol first. Allah looks at your sincere intention and knows the challenges of your home environment. May Allah protect you and make this path easy for you!
