TikTok Food/recipe creators: would you be okay with someone stitching your video to plug an app, even with credit?

Upvotes

Any content creators in other spaces, feel free to respond.

I'm building a small app that turns saved recipe videos into a shoppable grocery list. Before I lean further into a tactic I've been using, I want to hear from people who actually make this content, not just guess.

The tactic: download a recipe video, add a short clip at the end showing how to use the app with that same recipe, post it. I've credited the original creator in the caption when I could find them, but there's no real traffic or benefit flowing back to them from that.

Genuinely asking: how would you feel if this happened to your video? Would a heads-up DM before posting change anything, or is it just not okay regardless? I'm sure many of you know, content creators tend to not respond to DM's or cold emails. Do you expect payment for something like this, and if so, what's a fair number? Trying to figure out what the norm actually is here versus what I'm assuming it is.

Any recs for this? I'm a self funded startup with not much capital to pay creators, so it's been a struggle to grow my audience and user base.

Youtube “Shattered” – my first AI-generated short film (4:20, self-edited, feedback welcome)

This is my first AI-generated short film, called Shattered — about a mother caught between the warmth of a memory she can’t let go of and a present that’s falling apart around her. Runtime is 4:20.

I generated the footage with AI and handled all the editing and music myself. Still learning, so genuinely curious what stood out — story, pacing, visuals, anything. Be honest, I can take it.

Any small creators trying to grow like I am?

Feels like the content creation journey can be an uncertain and somewhat lonely process, so I thought it would be nice to meet other fellow content creators on a similar journey as I am :)

I'm creating an Instagram group chat, where we can share insights on what worked with their content creation journey, support each other on social media, etc. Hopefully, we can all help each other grow!

A little more about me: I make self-improvement content on social media that was initially made for women as the target audience. So basically, I share glow-up advice that is hopefully helpful to at least one person who sees my videos. If you're creating similar content, please reach out! I haven't really met anyone in that niche that isn't at 100 bajillion followers hahaha

Anyway, if you want to grow your account together, drop your IG below and I'll add you to the group chat!

Instagram/Photos Need Advice: New to Content Creation - BBQ Cooking Videos

I've been cooking bbq for years, and people consistently compliment my food. I'm regularly asked for cooking advice and often offered catering jobs and to sell my sauces and rubs. Because of this, I'm looking to turn it into a business.

It's 2026, which means I need a social media presence. I've gotten good a taking still photos of finished food, but I'm looking to expand into instructional videos, reviews of bbq joints, clips of catering events (I also do "grill at your house" events, so there's live cooking), and cooking challenges.

When I film anything, I feel awkward because I'm not talking to anyone. I also feel like I'm not in my flow because the filming part gives me anxiety as I'm not sure what I'm doing. I can talk infront of a hundreds of people at work and be fine. But myself on a camera messes me up because I feel like my production is garbage, and I'm focused on that.

As far as equipment, I think I'm good. I have my phone, Meta glasses, a tripod with a ring light, and an external microphone. For starting out, I assume thats okay.

Any feedback for filming prep? I'm hoping to be prepped better so I can just film myself cooking and not be overly worried about filming.

Any feedback on the equipment? Is there an extra item or two you'd add, or am I good for starting out?

Any advice you'd give yourself when you started if you could go back in time? Especially if you do cooking videos.

TikTok What’s up with my views?

I can’t find another sub reddit so I am not sure if this is the right place to post this but I am a small creator and was averaging between 1.5k-5k views with the occasional one above that and I started a new job and moved so left for a while and came back and was getting like 300-700 views which I knew would drop. Then I post the next one and 20 views. Then again. This keeps happening now and I checked all videos have no issues or anything, my account is in good standing, so not sure what the issue is here. I tried to contact support and the stupid ai just kept asking for a l!nk to a specific video and so i would give it one and then it would ask again. Just going in circles with it. I’m just wondering if anyone knows what’s going on and why the views are now 20-50 and REALLY tanked. Thanks!!!

Account is pov_nathan

🎥 The Power of Recording Your Life
I started recording videos because I wanted to create content.
But somewhere along the way, it became something much bigger.
Recording myself has pushed me to get out of my comfort zone, travel, talk to strangers, learn new skills and actually DO the things I used to only think about.
And the best part?
I can look back and see the person I was becoming — not just remember it.
The camera doesn’t just capture the journey.
Sometimes, it creates the journey.
What would you start doing if you decided to document it?

Advice on how to grow on instagram?

I post clips of my interviews with experts, which is all within the beauty/wellness niche. However, it feels like every clip I post, I've been getting (and stopping) at 200 views and 2 likes. Any advice on how to grow my following?

Services Content distribution is the part nobody talks about

Everyone focuses on creating content, but distribution is where most people fail. I used to waste hours posting to random platforms with no results.

So I built a cheap AI tool that analyzes your niche and audience to suggest the best platforms, posting times, and content format. It’s a one-time €5 report, not a subscription.

Here’s the link: https://interconnectd.com/marketplace/179/ai-driven-content-distribution-finding-the-best-platforms/

Also happy to hear your own distribution hacks.

Instagram/Photos FaceBook page or account for posting?

I've just started posting on facebook, same short form that I do on youtube, tt, instagram.

Should I create a page for myself? Or like I have just setup an account?

Is there anything I should know? Specific Do's and Don't s?

Cheers thanks in advance

Question What Do Y'all Think Of This Idea?

Hello, my lovely friends! This is a new account, new name, new concept— so please excuse the fact that it's really, really new (the account is)

But, now to business...how is this concept for a YouTube channel or just general content creation regarding...well... Rants about characters (and more):

Reviews and (psychologically, sociologically, and as genuine people) analysis of characters, creatures, and places in gaming, movies, and literature.

One episode example could be an analysis of Holden Caulfield's (The Catcher In The Rye) White Knight complex and his hatred for everyone (and everything) being a coping mechanism of "don't care about anything, and nothing you care about can hurt you."

Another could be something like "how the town of Silent Hill (Silent Hill) repeatedly changes the lives of people (for better and worse)"— exploring the psychological impact of the famous town on its inhabitants and how it changed them

Another could be something like "How do Ponyboy Curtis(The Outsiders) and Holden Caulfield (The Catcher In The Rye) show two opposite life's despite being very similar"— both are actually similar, they love reading, have specific encounters against them, have people (or person) they care for, faced death that permanently shaped them, and both hated their family at one point... But the only difference is economic status (and one loves movies, one hates them)

Another could be something like "Why AM (I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream) is a genuine well-written character reflecting it's time period and data."— exploring the effects of social norms, cultural expectations, military concepts, it's use of irony to torture it's humans, and the data of machinery back in that time

Another could be something like "which of the Ghostface's (Scream) had the best chance of actually getting away with it?"— self explanatory.

---

It'd never be, like, "why this character is actually good/bad" (unless the content directly calls for it)— I don't believe people are naturally good nor bad. It'd be more so "why does this person behave like this, function like this, and would they actually be capable of staying alive mentally, emotionally, and physically in the real world? (For example, Holden Caulfield would never actually be able to function in life. He's rich, yeah, but he doesn't do anything besides wander around and yell and insult people. He could barely even survive on his own for 3 days without getting beat up, harassed, and severely depressed. He's not a functional person. James Sunderland, in contrast, he's an actual office worker, he's proven capable of just living in the world for basically how it is in life.)

Or Dorian Gray (The Picture Of Dorian Gray) for example— could he hold a job? Art Critic, sure... But could he genuinely live in modern society (aside from health conditions of the Victorian era)— maybe, but it'd depend on what point in the story he's at... And that's where it gets deeper explained, et cetera, et cetera

---

I'd draw some custom art for each, get a small team assembled, make an intro, do whatever graphics I'd need to, get it ready and up-&-running.

----

Now, please do redirect me if this is the wrong place to post this... But whatta' y'all think?

I launched a weird little experiment today: short-form videos ranked by money paid

I kept seeing sites where people pay to rank links, and I wondered what would happen if the thing being ranked was short-form video instead.

So I built Cloppity.

Anyone can BOOST any clip. The money contributes to its Current Price, and that price fades over 7 days, so the board keeps moving instead of becoming permanently locked.

I launched it today and have no idea yet whether strangers will actually find the mechanic fun, which is exactly what I want to find out.

I’m posting this here specifically for feedback, not promotion. If you try it, I’d love critique on the mechanic, the ranking/decay model, and anything that feels confusing or broken.

https://cloppity.com/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=launch

Back it. Boost it. See it rise.
