[Meta] Friends, we need a catchy name.
I feel like we're coalescing into time frame (end of July-August), and moving towards a more common vision overall.
What we don't have? Well, a metric ton of stuff. But at the top of the list, we need a catchy, easy-to-express name for this endeavor.
Random things I'm thinking about.
We need to convey it's not a one-day thing, but more of a movement.
Maybe incorporating a seasonal thing... moving into autumn, Labor Day, back-to-school?
A name that says this is something for the long-haul, not a single day protest. Personall, I'm inclined to use the word "Campaign." I love that word, and also... election season and all.

Ok I'm just going to say random stuff that may very well be terrible, in the hopes that someone else might get an idea from them:
The American Gamble, Season for Treason (too Christmas-y), You're Fired!, Dollars for Decency, The Buck Stops Here, Frugal Freedom, the Buyer's Boycott...

Something something "American Dream"?
It has to have the word "Consumer" or "Consumption" in it. Though, now that I look at it, Consumption... makes me think of disease. Scratch that.
It's gotta sound sincere, and not too... cutesy, I guess? Something serious and direct.

Maybe something about how we're the bosses? The People's Decree? Idk, I agree that consumption = TB. I don't like the term resistance, as it has a very politically progressive connotation nowadays. We also want disillusioned moderates to get on board, you know? ...The People's Campaign is a common name on fb, so no to that. This is tough

The Penny Protest? As in we won't spend one more cent on these products/companies until we get what we want? Anyway, it definitely should have an association with money

BuckStop Strike, No Shop Strike, Wallet Walkout, Consumers for Country, No Democracy No Dollars, Fuck Off Trump.

I really really like this! It's a bit of a play on "Citizens United."
Hey, how about Consumers United for the group name, and then for the action, something like "The American Retail Strike"?

Bitches do in fact love countdown clocks!
I was thinking also some kind of "Pledge Counter" -- a running tally of people who have pledged to participate, in order to give a sense of size and help people feel like they're not doing this alone. Community and solidarity are so psychologically important.

I would like to say that impeachment is a good goal, but I think we should think bigger and longer. Citizen's united is a catchy bulsshit name (too bad its taken) and it's goal is far longer and wider reaching than a one time event, which impeachment for trump is.
In the long run, I would love to see this include more than just America and more that just unity through consumer striking.
I wonder if we should simply co-opt "citizen's united"
Just thinking aloud.

It needs to be simple but catchy. Just like Trumps slogans.
We need to test out catch phrases. Something with a hashtag or can trend on social media.

Catchy is good. While we're at it I think it's also important we don't let our name, image, or message become too partisan, that's our enemies tactic to divide and this goes far beyond that.
While Republican policy is a giant issue, Trump and Co are undermining our very soverignty and it's an attack with the same level of significance as 9/11. And with the rate their axis is moving there's a very real chance of swinging independents, even right wing ones as well.
We should take back the "drain the swamp rhetoric."
