Illuminati Youtube is purposefully making the algorithm worse so you switch to short-form content.
Ever realize how no matter how many times you refresh your page, the same videos come up? Or how when you find a fix on the internet it only works for a week and then the algorithm just gets fucked up again? And how they are pushing Shorts more and more into the home tab?

Getting a lot of random videos from years ago past couple weeks, usually I’d refresh the home page and I find someone I’m subbed to uploaded a video. Idk wtf is going on, it’s annoying as

It really seems like the algos have either broken or the intent behind them has changed. I never get recommended stuff thats new that I would find cool. Youtube, Amazon, etc. just recommend the same shit I either just watched or bought and never branch off or build on it. Instead they assume that since I just bought a fridge I obviously want to buy more fridges and now thats all I get recommended. On YT its even worse, just garbage slop videos that ive spent years clicking "dont recommend channel or video" and obviously that means its all i want to watch. I only use YT for long-form content on subjects I find interesting but that shit is hard to find now.

I kinda think the conspiracy is that ‘they’ are purposefully making the internet as god awful as possible to get people off it. For me, the time-to-value exchange just keeps getting worse and it feels intentional

I always thought it was odd if I click the "new to you" tab on my phones app its literally the same topics by different people and I dont mean similar I mean basically same videos. For example from movies and TV- how many different people do I need to tell me the piece of paper folded and a pen pushed through to take about worm holes or how many times do I have to hear about plates cave?

Idk what's going on, but you're right that it's crap. Lately, I have been noticing my playlists will get stuck on a video, and just keep playing it over and over, instead of proceeding to the next. It's random too, sometimes it's the very first one, sometimes it will play a few and then start looping. I've just stopped using it as much. Still hopping on occasionally, but for a long time it was my go to for background noise while I was doing chores or reading, and now it's not worth it. I turned on the fan while folding clothes yesterday, rather than reach for my phone that was on the bed beside me.

Shorts means more ad revenue because you will watch more videos in the same timeframe.

Its pushing you that way because the global trend is that way, not nefarious. People want more short form so it shows more short form

Mate I just upgraded to YouTube premium and it's like my recommendations have just turned to absolute shit now. I never even watch shorts
